This
past weekend, Matt, Charlie, and I spent 3 days in a cozy little cabin
in Blowing Rock, NC. Matt actually
booked this weekend a long time ago as part one of my Christmas gifts, so I was
SO excited for the weekend to finally arrive!

I surprised Matt with Blowing Rock IPA. He thought it was clever.
We spent one afternoon in downtown Blowing Rock, {which just so happened to be Winterfest}, window shopped, and ate lunch at Mellow Mushroom!
We popped in at The Barking Rock Pet Boutique & Bakery to get a little snack for Charlie.
Dessert time!

Lunch: guacamole grilled cheese {recipe}, zucchini chips {recipe} and butternut squash soup {recipe}

and enjoying the rest of the wine!

ReplyDeleteSO STINKIN' FUN!! And just a small tidbit of advice [because you didn't ask for it and all]... take these trips and take them again and again... as many times as you can before y'all jump on the baby bandwagon! We did and were so thankful to have traveled and had our fun before baby J joined us! We still plan on traveling / going on random trips, but it's pretty obvious that they require a lot more planning / work than they used to!

ReplyDeleteAhhh I'm so jealous!! :( Blowing Rock is my favorite place in the NC mountains! My family goes there at least once a month! Did you happen to stop in Kilwin's? Fudge & Ice Cream...it's heaven!! :) I can't wait to be back in the Carolinas! ;)

Looks like the perfect weekend getaway!! My husband and I were just looking at places recently to have a littl escape to the mountains. We live in Texas, so we don't have places close by like that or views like that!!! I love your pictures. What a cute family! :)
