Our reception was everything I had dreamed of. Everything came together perfectly and everyone had such a blast!
Before entering our reception, Matt and I snuck downstairs of our venue where we had a quick private dinner. Not only did this give us the opportunity to eat our delicious food, but we were able escape the chaos and really enjoy our first few moments together as husband and wife!
Our table centerpieces consisted of white and pink shades of flowers {peonies, ranunculus, garden roses, hydrangeas, tulips, and more}, lots of mercury glass, mason jars, and of course BURLAP!
A few details, including our sweet fur baby Charlie, koozies, and our DIY burlap monogram found {HERE}...
Our first dance was to Forever and Ever, Amen by Randy Travis
Dad and I danced to My Girl by The Temptations
Matt and his mom danced to half of What A Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong and he danced the second half with his Grandma!
My favorite cake layer - Vanilla pound cake with chocolate chips + raspberry filling. The top layer is sitting in our freezer for our first anniversary!
The bouquet toss was hilariously aggressive. I tossed the bouquet to Going to the Chapel by The Dixie Cups.
lots of dancing!
The Common Clay Band was unbelievable and kept the party going all night!
A Kappa Delta tradition, my sorority sisters and I had a special candlelight ceremony.
and more dancing...
The bridesmaids snuck out of the reception to decorate the getaway car
At the end of the night, guests picked up sparklers for the sendoff...
and DONUTS for a late night snack!
Sparkler sendoff!
Best day of my life.

shut upppppp that's what we're doing our first dance to! and your centerpieces are exactly what i had in mind! mercury glass, mason gars + some milk glass! are we the same person? :)
ReplyDeleteI commented too early because I got way too excited when I saw your first dance song. Mine and my dad's song is also "My Girl," but I'm thinking of mixing it up and having us dance to "Baby Girl" by Will Hoge b/c he is my fave. I love that the groom danced half of the song with his mom and the other half with his grandma. Cameron is really close with his grandma so I think it would be really special for him to dance with her, too. Love your cake - simple and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove that you had so much fun!!!
ReplyDeleteI love it! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!
ReplyDeleteChristina, your wedding day was beautiful. I am so thankful and honored that I could be a part of your big day becoming Mrs. M! ReplyDeleteYour wedding is everything that I wanted mine to be. The cake, the decorations, the colors. If I could have replicated this, I would have! I didn't find out about your venue until after we booked ours, and I was SO sad. I love the idea of your private dinner. SO cute!!! My dad and I also danced to My Girl :) and your cake was exactly what I told the cake maker to do (which they DID NOT). I did a candle passing too! You are so totally my new bff and wedding twin. haha! (sorry for the long post! lol)

ReplyDeleteWe did donuts as our favors too. We had a box of two for everyone to take home with them.
ReplyDeleteKrispy Kreme!
Beautiful!! I'm getting married in late July and am in LOVE with your koozies. My fiance & I consider ourselves koozie connoisseurs (we've collected 100+ since college!) and have high standards for the one we'll customize for our own. Yours have ALL the "must haves": high quality neoprene, stitched sides vs. glued, and high-quality personalization vs. cheesy wedding bell clip art :)
ReplyDeleteWould you mind telling me what company you ordered them through? I've done some researching and haven't found ones as close to what we're looking for as yours are :) Thanks!!
Your wedding looked like such a blast and I am DIEING over those centerpieces. Your bridesmaids are so cute decorating your car. Make me laugh out loud.
