Taco Delivery

Have you ever signed up to take dinner to someone and completely freaked out about what to bring? For some reason, I always assume I am supposed to bring a casserole. Then I freak out even more because I don't really even like casseroles all that much. I mean, I like them, but it's not what you find Matt and I eating on the reg. You know what we like to eat (at least 3 nights a week)? TACOS. Yep. We are addicted to Mexican for dinner and it's definitely my favorite easy go-to meal during the work week. Fish tacos, veggie tacos, shrimp tacos, black bean and corn tacos...we love tacos.

Maybe not everyone loves tacos as much as we do, but I like to assume they do. And you know what's even better than a taco dinner? A taco dinner that you didn't have to cook yourself and is delivered to your doorstep...
For my taco delivery, I packed two boxes of taco shells {hard & soft}, seasoned ground beef, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and onions - all in disposable containers to keep it hassle free.
And for the dessert - cupcakes!
And just to brighten up the containers a little more, I used washi tape to label the Tupperware. I picked up the washi tape from Michael's and the Tupperware containers from Walmart.
Personally, I think this is the perfect dinner to bring to neighbors, new moms, families going through a tough time, etc. And if you want another easy to-go dinner with a Mexican flair, check out Rachel's "Build Your Own Taco Salad" meal she's been taking to her new mommy friends!

  1. I always feel like I should bring a casserole too, but I love the idea of tacos! What a nice change from the usual casserole. And, of course, cupcakes for dessert is a must. Great idea all around. :)

  4. Nicely done! My "casserole" is usually baked ziti, but these lovely disposable tupperware definitely make it possible now to bring just about anything!

  5. You have done it again! I always thinks casserole, lasagna, etc but in the summer that is just too much. Def keeping this taco delivery in my back pocket!

  6. OK, i would've loved to have had something like this instead of all those casseroles!! it just gets to be WAY too much food to keep in the fridge and it piles up fast...love this idea my friend

  7. Excellent idea!! We also eat tacos a lot of nights during the week. In fact, it's what I've eaten the last two nights. We already had the vegetables and corn tortillas, so we just picked up a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store and dinner was ready! I am definitely going to use your idea next time I sign up to take a friend dinner. Last week I did, and I let them pick out what they wanted from a deli, and so I took them soups and sandwiches. I too imagine the casseroles would eventually not be as yummy once you've eaten quite a few.

  11. Love this idea! My husband and I feel the same about casseroles, we like them alright when someone else serves them but never make them for our own meals, (we too love the heck out of some mexican !) so I like the idea of skipping the panic that sets in when I'm supposed to deliver a meal and taking something that I would like to receive too! (soup/ chili is the only other thing I've ever feelt comfortable taking for meal delivery! ha)

  12. Our friends just had a baby and this is a great idea! We usually pick something up from a local restaurant but as more people have babies that can get pricey! Thanks for the idea!

  14. I think this is a fantastic idea! We don't eat casseroles very often either and it's usually something just fast and easy that I make. Tacos works well too because then the various family members can heat up the meat as they want a taco and there's no pressure to eat right when the meal is delivered.
