Week 27 Bumpdate

This morning we're headed to the doctor for the dreaded glucose test. Wish me luck! However, I also get an ultrasound today so I'm actually really looking forward to the appointment.
How far along: 27 weeks - my last week in second trimester!

Baby Size: A cucumber! And now the measurements change from crown-to-rump to head-to-toe, so baby girl is 15 inches long and 2.2 lbs!

Weight gain: Holding steady at 20 pounds.

Maternity clothes: I actually returned a lot of my winter clothes that I never wore this past weekend and saved up my store credits for some new spring gear. I am so ready for brighter colors and dresses!

Stretch marks: Don't think so, but am definitely using lots of stuff to keep it that way.

Sleep: Sprinkled in between the restless nights and waking up hours before my alarm, I had a few good nights of sleep this week.
Gender: Girl!

Movement: Yes!

Best moment this week: My 75 minute prenatal massage on Saturday and shopping for the nursery!
Looking forward to: My ultrasound this morning, the Clefhangers concert on Friday, having Matt's parents in town this weekend to see our nursery progress and my sister coming up to visit for a few days!

Food cravings: Still enjoying egg sandwiches every day for breakfast, salads for lunch and sweets after dinner.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing.
Labor Signs: Nope!
What I miss: Sleep!
Symptoms: This week I've definitely felt some shooting (round ligament) pains at times when walking.

Nursery: Over the weekend we hung some bookshelves, bought and returned baskets from 6 different places until finding the perfect ones for Caroline's closet and found a dresser! Here's a little inspiration board I've put together so far. Still undecided on the rug...(is it obvious that color scares me?). Going with a pink rug is a step outside of my comfort zone.

Belly Button in or out? In, but getting more shallow each day.

Wedding rings on or off? On!

Mood: A lot less stressed after making nursery progress and getting a massage.

Workouts: After doing a really stupid incline walk on the treadmill early this week, I suffered from the worst lower back pain for days so I had to take a break from the gym. I did make it to my dance class on Friday though. And even though I'm slowing down and can't do all the fun moves with the rest of the girls, I can't/won't give it up!
Prayer for Caroline:
Dear Lord, You gave us sleep as a time for rest and renewal. You showed us by example when You created the world and took the seventh day to rest. Lord, please help me, tonight and from this time forward, to get a deep and rejuvenating sleep. If I wake up in the middle of the night, please help me to go right back to sleep. Lord, please also help Caroline to develop good sleep patterns from the very beginning. I pray for safety while she sleeps. Protect her from SIDS or any other harm. Let your angels watch over her all through the night - and the daytime too. Bless her whether in her crib or by my side, or in the car seat. Anywhere she sleeps, make it relaxing and peaceful. Lord, You promise us in Isaiah 26:3 to keep our minds in perfect peace and trust You. Help me keep my focus and trust in You and cast out all fears. I choose peace of mind. I choose to trust in You because I know you love Caroline and I with an everlasting love. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.

  1. I'm all about neutrals too...but I am loving that pink rug! It's so soft and feminine, perfect for a sweet little girl...but both are great so you definitely can't go wrong with either of those choices :) Love your bumpdates + your prayers for Caroline...how amazing that she will be able to look back one day and read your prayers for her, truly amazing. Good luck at your appointment today + have fun seeing your precious little babe! Xx.

  2. Oh I'm so jealous you're getting an ultrasound! I had a quickie appointment yesterday and don't look forward to my appointments nearly as much now that I don't get to see her again until game time! (that being said, I'm completely thankful that there's no medical reason to need to keep a close eye on things!) My nursery picks are all pretty neutral at this point too- whatever you decide will look great- you have fabulous taste!

  3. Well congratulations on being THE cutest pregnant woman ever! Good luck with your glucose testing and yay for ultrasound! Not much longer from here!!

  4. I love your pregnancy style. It's simple and adorable!

  5. You look great! And well styled :)

  6. You look stunning! Love the nursery board. Definetly get as much rest as you can, while you can!

  7. Good luck on the glucose test!!! I'm sure you'll do great....it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be!

  8. I'm sure you've been asked this a million times, but have you tried prenatal yoga? It's a really great workout (of course, how great depends always on the instructor, much like school, haha) and it's something you can do safely right up until the end! I did it up until the last couple of weeks or so and I only stopped going because school and work were getting insanely busy!

You look FANTASTIC and adorable!! And don't worry about the glucose test. Everyone hypes it up to be this totally awful experience. I didn't think it was that big of a deal honestly!

Praying for you for good results back on the test and a wonderful ultrasound experience. Have a lovely day, friend!

  9. I'm the exact same way with color! My house is completely cream, nude, white, and beige! I'm sure the nursery is going to look fantastic when you are done! Good luck at the doctor today :)

  10. So glad the nursery is coming along for you guys!! You are doing so awesome with your weight gain & keeping up with your workouts!! Keep up the hard work! I'm sure it will pay off after Miss Caroline arrives!!

  11. I like the pink rug, but another option is a lambskin/sheepskin rug which seems to be popular these days. I think the pink rug is perfect because it's both functional and girly. I'm sure Caroline will love it.

  12. Does it seem yet like I copy and paste my comments each week on your bumpdate because it's always something like "Gorgeous Gorgeous Gorgeous!!" :) Love the nursery board and I think the little pop of color is just perfect, even for the color-afraid!

  13. Last week I was googling "Sassy Water" and picture from your blog stood out to me...I clicked on the link..from there I clicked on your wedding tab...and got a little hooked to your blog! Loving your blog, especially with your baby girl's updates! Take care!

  14. You look absolutely amazing! Can't wait to see the final photos from the nursery! The walls look awesome already.

  15. Your bump is so darn cute!! Love the nursery inspiration board and can't wait to see it come together!! :) And CLEFHANGERS CONCERT?! EEEE! Swoon! So jealous!!!!! xx

  16. you look great! i love your top and nails. love the idea of the nursery decor too! xo jillian - cornflake dreams

  17. Good luck with the glucose test! :) I'm so ready for spring clothes too and I love the nursery so far!

  18. Looking FAB! Great seeing you Sunday mama :) My glucose test is Friday, let me know how it goes!

  19. I just love you! You look amazing, momma! Loving that gorgeous nursery and that rug! I still can't get over you're 27 weeks! xo

  20. Cutest bump in all the land!! Hope your appt went great today. :)

  21. You are just glowing and I can tell you cannot wait to meet baby Caroline! I've loved seeing all the progress on the nursery and have no doubt it is going to be beautiful no matter what color rug you pick. Enjoy the Clefhangers this weekend...they are the best :-)) xo, Alyssa at Southern Abundance

  22. You look great and way to go keeping up with your workouts! I love that pink rug - especially lovely as a compliment to the soft nursery. Can't wait to see the finished room!

  23. Prenatal massage sounds great!! I actually like the neutral rug better and it makes it easier to totally change things up down the road if you want!

  24. I tried to go back, but I can't find this anywhere. Where did you get your crib? I love how simple it is, but it still looks modern. Thanks!

  25. I had my glucose test yesterday, too! Still waiting for the results but I didn't think the test itself was half bad. I chugged down that drink with no problems... but I had lots of practice with cheap tequila shots in college. ;-)

  26. Just discovered your blog and I just adore it! :)
