Week 36 bumpdate

We are officially NINE MONTHS PREGNANT! Nine, NINE months, how crazy is that? And why didn't anyone tell me that pregnancy is actually 10 months? Regardless, we are down to the home stretch and I couldn't be more excited for these last 4 weeks to fly by!
Saturday we were out of town for our baby shower and on Sunday we were super productive! We finished our last little projects, did a million loads of baby laundry, hung a few last things on the wall in the nursery, organized Caroline's dresser drawers and closet, took our last (hopefully) trip to Buy Buy Baby, made room for all of the baby bath supplies in the guest bathroom, rearranged the entire kitchen to make room for bottles and feeding supplies, ordered my breast pump, filed for maternity leave, and started packing my hospital bag. So much for a "day of rest" like we had planned but it felt good to get so much accomplished.
Now we just need to install the car seats, take our parenting and breastfeeding class and get the guest room ready for our mom's stay (they are alternating trips to take care of us once Caroline arrives).
How far along: 36 weeks {NINE MONTHS}

Baby Size: A head of romaine lettuce {18.75 inches, 5.75 lbs}!

Weight gain: 29 lbs

Maternity clothes: Haha.

Stretch marks: I don't know. Probably.
Sleep: Ehh, not so good this week. Let's just say I've made some major progress on Candy Crush recently.
Gender: By the number of pink smocked dresses we brought home from our shower this past weekend we are on girl overload in this house and loving it!

Movement: Oh yeah - constant dance party in my belly!

Best moment this week: Our baby shower in Winston and finding out that we were accepted into our number one daycare program!

Looking forward to: Enjoying our month countdown, my prenatal massage this Saturday and our "Parenting" class this week.

Food cravings: Still fresh orange juice (with lots of pulp), egg sandwiches and pineapple!!
Anything making you queasy or sick: No.
Labor Signs: Not yet, but we have an appointment this afternoon and will find out if we're making progress.
What I miss: I can't really "miss" pregnancy yet since it's not technically over, but I am already getting sad about no longer being pregnant. Is that weird? I have so enjoyed this experience and I know I am going to miss our baby girl's kicks in my belly.
Symptoms: Back pain, heartburn, shortness of breath, tiredness, random belly pains, chub rub between my thighs, swelling and pelvic soreness.
Nursery: DONE and it is truly perfect!
Belly Button in or out? Still even.

Wedding rings on or off? On but still swelling in my feet, ankles and calves towards the end of the day.

Mood: Excited!

Workouts: Still walking about a mile after work a few times a week.
Prayer for Caroline:
Dear Lord, As we near our due date I pray for our birth experience. Lift me up into Your love through each contraction and give me strength and endurance. Fill our room with Your holy presence as Caroline comes into the world and let there be an atmosphere of joy and gladness, of peace and praise! In Jesus' name. Amen.

Shout triumphantly to the Lord, all the earth.
Serve the Lord with gladness; come to Him with joyful songs.
Acknowledge that the Lord is God.
He made us, and we are His - His people, the sheep of His pasture.
Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise.
Give thanks to Him and praise His name.
For the Lord is good, and His love is eternal.
His faithfulness endures through all generations.

  1. Wow you accomplished a lot girlfriend!! So excited for the little miss's arrival! Happy dancing over here for you and Matt! :)

  2. You are on top of things! Yay for getting into the daycare you wanted! Can't wait to see the completed nursery!

  3. It seems like yesterday you announced your pregnancy and now you're NINE MONTHS! Time flies and I'm not even the pregnant one! :) Still looking like the cutest pregnant mommy ever!

  4. Oh girl, I am so excited for you - the final month countdown to meeting your little lady! Well done on getting everything ready and organised this weekend - and you look gorgeous x

  5. That's crazy! It's flown by - so excited for you!

  6. Wow, that was one productive Sunday! And pink smocked dresses, you can never have enough of those! ; ) I hope at some point you do a post on maternity fashion/style/favorite stores {so I can pin for the future} bc you always look so darn adorable! Congrats on getting into your top daycare...it sounds like CLT is a lot like DC and is quite competitive? In DC, our friends practically had to get on a waiting list before even getting pregnant and then go through numerous interviews, etc. etc., by the end of it all you could practically have a top secret security clearance, ha.

  7. You are the cutest little pregnant lady I've ever seen. Seriously, I want a post on your pregnancy exercise, eating and beauty routines. :)

  8. I've enjoyed reading all about your journey. Can't wait to see pictures of her nursery - I'm sure it's beautiful!

  9. You just look stunning! Very beautiful :)

  10. I am so excited for y'all!! And when my Mom first explained to me (which was recently) that pregnancy is actually 10 months I was like...say whaaa?!?? You are such a pretty pregnant lady + I can't wait until your little babe is here! Xx.

  11. So much accomplished! Just need a baby now! You look amazing!!

  12. hehe I just love your answer for stretch marks.... "I don't know. Probably". I thought I didn't have any on my belly until after I had the baby and there were a bunch of them hiding underneath my immense bump!!! Getting close now!!! xx

  13. I had the 10 month realization about a week ago...it was a bit shocking! Your use of the term "Chub Rub" makes me giggle every time I read it, so true and since I'm not due til July I think it will be even more true as the weather gets warmer. I use body glide and it works like a charm (no chaffing), I used it before pregnancy when I was running long distances. It can be found at most sporting goods stores or running stores.

  14. I just can't believe you're in the home stretch of things!! So, so exciting!! Hopefully, maybe you are starting to progress!?!

  15. Girl you are seriously almost there!!! WOW! And you really do look amazing.

  16. youre almost there! and looking great :) :) enjoy this last month! xo jillian - cornflake dreams

  17. You are absolutely glowing! You are so so close!

  18. This is so exciting! I'm reliving vicariously through your journey!!

  19. Girl it is almost time yay !!! I knew about pregnancies being "10 months" but the hubby had no clue he would say "babe its been 9 months lets get the show on the road lol"

  20. haha "chub rub" dang it I am 21 weeks and already at that stage! So fun you're in the home stretch!

  21. From twelve weeks to now, so much has changed with you; Even your face is just beaming! It's so neat to see! Hope the last stretch is easy for you. Can't wait to read the progress closer to your due time. So exciting!

  22. You are in the home stretch! Unfortunately there really is never a "last" trip to buy buy baby!

  23. sooo excited for you girly!!!! home stretch :) :)

  24. Beautiful! Congrats on making it full-term!!! :) What a blessing!
