Five on Friday: BRB & Thermometers

Sorry y'all. Life is extremely hectic this week between work and the mini battling a terrible stomach bug. Be back next week! In the meantime, go link up with my friends Darci, April and Natasha

**Side note: If you have an awesome baby thermometer recommendation, please leave it in the comments! Matt pretty much chases Caroline around with a thermometer daily (yes, he's a lunatic) and has tried 5 different types the past few months ranging from $4 to $40. We need a mommy (or daddy) tested and approved recommendation! Thanks in advance!

  1. We have the exergen temporal artery thermometer and we love it. We've had it for over 4 years now and used it on both of our boys. I highly recommend it! Hope she feels better soon!

  2. Sorry to hear that Caroline isn't feeling well. Hopefully it passes soon and you find a good thermometer!

  3. Hoping Caroline feels better soon. Poor thing:( I wish I had a good recommendation to leave you, but we have not had good luck with thermometers - I always tell B that they are all broken because none of them read the same. So frustrating!!! Especially with a squirmy little one. Ugh. Good luck, Mama!

  4. Aw, pooh! Agree with Cat W above ... we love our Exergen temporal artery thermometer! Obviously a rectal temp is most accurate but I always start off with the forehead swipe version before resorting to (ahem) the other end.

  5. We use a VeraTemp no contact thermometer for an easy temp check. It's just a point and click. We check it all the time when she's sleeping without having to wake her up! If that temperature seems high, and we want a more accurate read we use our regular thermometer to check. Hope she feels better soon!

  6. Feel better love! We have both the cheap one and one that scans the head, I use the one that scans the head if one of the babes are sleeping but I trust the cheap one more :)

  7. I third (fourth?) the recommendation for the Exergen temporal artery. It is quick and easy. Only time I don't really love it is during a middle of the night check as the display does not illuminate so you can read it in the dark. I do agree that it isn't quite as accurate as a rectal temp, but I think that would only be an issue in the event of a super high fever.

  8. Oh no! I hope everyone is healthy soon! We have the one that swipes across the forehead....Cam likes to "help" so he actually lets us do it without putting up a fight. We also use it while he's sleeping. I hope you find an answer!
