It’s surreal to me that this Valentine’s Day was the last time I would have Matt all to myself and that next year I’ll be sharing him with a little person! This year we changed up our plans a bit. Our normal Valentine’s Day tradition is to celebrate with dinner at Cajun Queen. We had reservations and every intention of going until last minute. Even after 3 days of being locked up inside due to the snowpocalypse in Charlotte, we decided why not just stay in our pajamas one more night? So we cancelled our reservations and decided to cook one of our favorite meals together at home.

What a lovely Valentine's Day! We stayed in for the night as well 🙂 Sometimes that's the perfect evening!
We had baked steaks and asparagus too! We have loved this recipe since the first time you blogged about it. It's definitely a favorite in our house.
We had a dinner date night in as well! So glad y'all enjoyed your last Valentine's with just the two of you!!
Thomas and I actually PREFER to stay in because it gets so crowded in the restaurants with all the couples going out! It's so much more intimate to be able to slow dance alone in your house and eat a delicious meal by candlelight with your love. The same thought you had–this is our last (insert holiday) together with just the two of us–hit us over and over again, too! Glad you enjoyed yourself. The meal looks amazing per usual! 🙂 Samara
Love that y'all stayed in last minute. So precious! And okay…I love sweet potatoes and I love goat cheese. But I've never thought of putting the two together till now! Genius! I usually do sweet potatoes, cumin, and salsa verde….I cannot wait to change it up with some goat cheese!! xx
Staying in is often the perfect way! x
