What a great week it has been. Thank you all so much for your sweet comments on our pregnancy announcement! We really are so excited and I have so much to fill you in on! In the meantime, here are five other highlights from the week.
– ONE – Matt, Caroline and I all had Monday off for MLK day so we enjoyed a nice long 3 day weekend and caught up on a million errands and checked off overdue to-do’s. We got my car serviced and also took Matt’s truck in for the 534,523,453,145
time for yet, more repairs from the accident. Fun times.
Matt and I also got hair cuts at Great Clips. Yep, we are so not fancy when it comes to hair cuts. In fact, it’s been years since I’ve had a cut over $15. That’s just the one thing I can’t bring myself to splurge on since I don’t get color, highlights, layers, etc. Anyway, I was feeling impulsive and cut off 3 inches. Matt was shocked and so was I. Hours later I started regretting 2 of those 3 inches. Oh well, it’s “healthier” now is what I’m telling myself. Later that night we attended an engagement party for our friends.
Oh, and I made a TON of baby food! What a labor of love, truly. Glad that’s done…for the next two weeks anyway.
– TWO – Cleaning tip! When we purchased our upholstered rocker from Pottery Barn I couldn’t decide on color. The sales associate talked me into a cream color because “spit up is white” and the stains aren’t so obvious. Made sense to me so I took the plunge on a cream rocker. Anyway, I later learned that spit up is only white for 6 months…and then it’s green, blue, orange or whatever other color baby food you fed your mini last. So I called PB back and asked how in the world I was supposed to clean my overpriced upholstered rocker. The answer — Mr. Clean Magic Erasers! I was skeptical but picked a few up and went to town on my rocker last weekend. Guess what? These WORK! I was so excited that I went on a furniture cleaning spree to rid our house of spit up stains…which lasted all of four hours until Caroline projectile vomited sweet potatoes across 3 of our couch cushions. I’ll be purchasing Magic Erasers in bulk here.
– THREE – Easy dinner of the week – veggie flat breads! My sister turned me on to these awhile ago and they are super delicious (and healthy). I throw a 90 calorie Flat Out into the oven at 400 degrees for a few minutes to toast it. Add mozzarella and goat cheese then throw back in for about 5 minutes (or until melted). Top with spinach, tomatoes and avocado. Finish with a drizzle of balsamic glaze (my favorite part)!
– FOUR – Last weekend my sister hosted a bachelorette party and I had to share her cute drink station set-up! Those balloons took her forever to make but they turned out fabulous.
– FIVE – Make sure to stop by the end of season sale over at Sugar Bit to save 40-70% off everything from fall/winter!!!

Love me some flat breads. Super delicious and super healthy if you use the right base!
Ahh! That veggie flat bread looks delish!!
I love your new hair cut! Very cute 🙂 I'm the exact same way with hair cuts! I always go to Super Cuts – decided to spend some money on a haircut over Thanksgiving and it turned out awful, so not I'm fixing it at Super Cuts lol
oh my gosh! that magic eraser trick might change my world forever! that would totally work on my white ikea couch!
Looks like fun to me! Your hair looks fab and just think how quickly it'll grow back with those new hormones! 🙂 Also, I'm SO making that recipe! I've been craving avocado like crazy! ps- did you post about making food? I need to save it if so! Happy Friday! xo
Ok I am with you on the not paying an extreme amount on a haircut, Great Clips it is for me too! Why pay so much money for a haircut thats all one length? Glad im not the only one who feels this way! 🙂 Thanks also for the idea of cleaning with the magic eraser. I spilled some ice cream on our couch one night and never thought about the magic eraser getting it out. Happy Friday!
Your hair still looks gorgeous! And all that baby food, well done momma – are those specific food trays or ice trays? My baby food never comes out of the ice trays once frozen 🙁 x
i love your hair!! and im so impressed with all that baby food!! (please do a baby food post sometime soon! i really want to make mine in the future). our rocker will be here next week and it's grey… hope it doesnt stain too fast : / have a great weekend! xo jillian – cornflake dreams
I agree with Jillian- I'd love to see a baby food post!! It looks like so much work, I don't know how you do it!! And thanks for the cleaning tip… we got a PBK rocker in a light grey color and I'm nervous about stains too!
Wait, you're telling me that Mr Clean Magic Erasers work on furniture??? I am definitely trying that this weekend! (PS I miss Harris Teeter so much…when I lived in Charlotte, we called the one in our neighborhood the Taj MaTeeter because it was so nice! Haha!) And that flatbread…yum!! Easy AND delicious, bring it on! Have a great weekend!
Love that you make baby food! Does it take a while to prep? I need to start doing this for my 6 month old 🙂
Thanks for the magic eraser tip! We have white furniture with a toddler. Clearly a prebaby purchase, but I still love them. Thankfully we don't have stains other people would notice, but they are stains that drive me nuts. I'm going to pick some up today!
I love magic erasers, swear by them.
I love magic erasers but didn't know you could use them on fabric! Awesome!!!
That flat bread looks amazing! I'm going to have to try that recipe!
I swear, Magic Erasers are sent from Jesus himself! Those things can work wonders. Oh, I love the hair cut! Looks beautiful. 🙂
It's my first time linking up. Thank you for hosting! I use magic erasers all the time! They are miracle cleaners. I make my son's baby food too. It was way easier than I thought it would be, but definitely takes up a lot of time and ice cube trays. 😉
That flat bread looks so delicious! Congrats again!! Can't wait to read more about your exciting news. 🙂 xo Always, Abby
1. congrats on baby #2! i think it's another girl…but that may be just me wanting you to have another girl because i'm dying at how cute it is to have two gals! 2. magic erasers. who knew? all over our furniture is slipcovered from pottery barn and it's super annoying to have to take it off all the time for washing.
I bought like 50 erasers on eBay for like $10. They're the "generic" ones so they don't come in the fancy box, but they are made from the same material as far as I can tell and work just as good!
Seeing all of those ice cube trays of baby food is taking me back to when I was still making purees! It'd always seem like a ton and then it'd be gone in a week – haha! And I had no clue about the magic eraser tip, but I will be trying out immediately! I have that same rocker, but in a dove gray, so it definitely shows everything.. including paw prints from my furbaby who loves to clean her paws on the ottoman! Hope you have a great weekend! xoxo, – M @ The Sequin Notebook
That bachelorette set up is the cutest! Pink && sparkly is my favorite. 🙂 We also have cream couches and while we don't have a baby to spit up on them its amazing how much mess two adults can make! I might have to look into those cleaners.
Your flat bread made me so hungry! It looks absolutely delicious and I have to give it a try this weekend.
Can't WAIT to hear the details on the baby news!! EEEEEEEEK! SO EXCITING!!!Your hair looks GREAT!!!! And WOW, mama! I'm so proud of you making all that homemade baby food! That is TRULY a labor of love!!!!!! We chose a navy SUNBRELLA fabric for the nursery glider. It was a good bit more pricey than lower grade fabrics, but I hope that because it's Sunbrella, cleaning up will be a breeze. FINGERS CROSSED!!Happy weekend!
Congratulations congratulations congratulations! So excited for you!!!
Your hair looks super cute and I your pizza looks delicious!! I love your sister's curtains! Do you know where she bought them? Happy weekend to you and your sweet family!!
That is so awesome that you make your own baby food. I have had good intentions on doing the same, but never get around to doing it. Your hair looks great, I am the same way about the price, thank goodness one of my bff's is a hairdresser and I get a good discount! Have a great week!!
That flat bread looks delish! And sounds super easy! And way to go on all that baby food! That's something I hope to do one day when I have babies!
Girl, thank you so much for that tip for the rocker! We have an upholstered rocker that was custom made, I have been wondering the same thing! I am definitely going to be trying it out. Have a wonderful week!
Those erasers are THE BEST THING EVER!! I've definitely used them a lot – and I can't believe how effective they are!!!
