Easter Weekend 2017

Easter weekend was a little wild for us this year. Since we are still living out of moving boxes we kept it pretty simple. On Good Friday daycare was closed and we had tons to accomplish so we had Ms. Jamie take the kiddos all morning and then later that afternoon Matt dropped them off with his parents for the night. This was tremendously helpful for us to knock out a ton of tasks (sans kids) like assembling the kid’s rooms, running to Ikea followed by a late night of assembly, installing light fixtures and unpacking as many boxes as possible before our wild toddlers were returned to us. Caroline was especially excited for her first slumber party at mimi + grandad’s house (without mommy and daddy tagging along) and couldn’t stop talking about the neighborhood Easter party…

Auntie Ann was also home for the weekend from New York City and Caroline was so excited to spend time with her.

The Easter bunny encounter is always so unpredictable. I thought we had scarred Caroline the two previous years with scary EB’s but she tolerated it well this year with cousin Morgan! Thomas on the other hand…

Later that night after the kids were in bed, Matt and I dug through boxes and boxes to find Easter baskets, Easter outfits (unsuccessful) and chalk for bunny prints.

Matt nailed the bunny prints again this year and the kiddos got such a kick out of them.

We stuffed their baskets with books, bath toys and a few other small things.

After we opened Easter baskets we did what everyone does — we went to church! Juuuuuuust kidding. I couldn’t even find the other half to Caroline’s jammies, let alone outfits for all of us! So instead we went to Lowes for the 34594656 time in 3 days.

Then we had a fancy Easter brunch at Cowfish where Thomas polished off a rice crispy treat covered in ketchup.

Our Easter may have looked a little different this year (I’m still pouting over not being able to find their adorable Easter outfits I purchased for them) but it was our first holiday in our new home — and for that I am thankful!
