Weekend Rewind | October 2018

Another great weekend worth rewinding…

Friday evening we relaxed at home outside. I made our favorite 2 ingredient pumpkin bread to snack on for the weekend and Pulled Pork Fiesta Burrito Bowls for dinner.

Saturday we had soccer for Tom in the morning. Afterwards we ate lunch at B. Good in Uptown before going to see the Fall Works matinee at the Knight Theater. The performance was absolutely incredible. All 4 of us were completely blown away by it. It was just so so so good.

Outfits linked below. My top comes in the cutest pink color too. And the back is split. The perfect fall transitional piece.

After the show we went to Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream. It was our first time and everyone devoured cones of 1-3 scoops each of ice cream. I got an amazing combination of 1 scoop sweet potato w/ toasted marshmallow & 1 scoop of goat cheese w/ cherries.

Sunday we went to church and out for lunch. I wore this cute lace dress and earrings from Lyla Taylor and my favorite pink pumps.

I snapped this picture of Caroline’s curls on our walk from church to lunch. Love these curls so much.

Caroline’s Dress (on sale! Comes in 4 colors and she has them all)!

After lunch we went Halloween costume shopping and decorated the outside of the house! We grilled steaks for dinner and I whipped up some dang good twice baked potatoes to go along with it.

And that was a wrap on the weekend!

Thanks friend! It’s amazing how he can cover his entire body with just one scoop of ice cream.

YES! I love to slow cook a pork butt in my crockpot at the beginning of the week and use it all week for different meal — BBQ sliders one night and burrito bowls the next! The bowls are one of our favorites right now too.

We LOVE Jeni’s. My favorite time to go is spring/early summer when the lavender and pear flavors are out. SO good together!

Believe me I’m not trying to hurt anyone’s feelings with this request. I’m the guy that grew up in Charlotte and wrote to you about Quail Hollow and South Mecklenburg, I’m the one that asked if it was alright to put you and your family on our Sunday School Prayer list and sent you the song list. I don’t know if all that helps you remember me or not. Anyway, I spent 9 years in the Air Force and am a Viet Nam vet. and am still proud of that fact. My request is this, I noticed that your son had Nike shoes on in one of the pictures, after what they did by hiring Colin Kaepernick I will never support or wear there stuff again and I’m not asking you to throw his shoes away, I’m asking you not to support or buy their stuff again. I know all vets don’t feel this way, but their are a lot of us that do than don’t They have a right to hiring anyone they want and he has a right to protest, but most of us feel very, very disrespected. My Father was a NFL Official in the 50’s and 60’s and I’m am sure he is spinning in his grave over the disrespect vets are being shown us by the NFL and their players. I understand that it’s a little hard for folks that were not in the military to understand how we feel, but the disrespect we feel is the same I felt when I came home from Viet Nam. I’m sorry if I have messed up your day, it’s something I, and other vets that I know feel very strongly about.
