Easter Weekend Rewind 2022

We had a wonderful Easter weekend! Let’s rewind it!

Friday

Friday was a gorgeous day so we packed up a picnic and explored a new park — Martha Rivers Park in Gastonia. It was about an hour drive but totally worth it. The kids absolutely flipped out when they spotted the massive castle playground.

Friday evening we made grilled flatbread pizzas for dinner and watched Spider Man: Far From Home for Family Movie Night!

Saturday

Saturday morning we got the kids dressed and ready for an Easter egg hunt…only to learn it was canceled as we were walking out the door (due to rain). So we went to brunch instead at Cafe Monte.

Saturday afternoon we knocked out lots of Easter activities — the kids decorated every glass surface with an Easter window cling, we dyed eggs and made Empty Tomb Resurrection Rolls!

Sunday

Sunday the kids were up bright and early to see if the Easter bunny came — and he did! This year the bunny hid LOTS of eggs (including two golden eggs) INSIDE the house which was a fun surprise for the kids. Watching them unpack their baskets and hunt for eggs was truly a highlight — their excitement at these ages is just so dang fun.

Favorite basket items? The stuffed animal hammock and bunny for Caroline and a Hornets t-shirt and water grenades for Thomas!

After crushing lots of candy we headed to church where we flowered the cross!

After church we headed to brunch and the rescheduled Easter egg hunt!

Sunday afternoon was spent picking up Easter grass from all over the house, catching up on chores and relaxing!
