I have been having way too much fun
decorating my new office. Recently I stumbled across Torie Jayne’s Pretty Pen Pots Tutorial and immediately ate 3 cans of green beans. Not only is this project super simple,
it is inexpensive yet makes a huge statement.
So here we go…
You Will Need:
– Empty
tin can(s)
– Scrapbook
paper
– Double
sided sticky tape
– Scissors
– Glue {optional}Step
1: Eat
3 cans worth of food. Wash and dry the empty tin cans very well. Step 2: Using the label from the can as
a template, trace and cut out a piece of scrapbook paper the size of your can. Step 3: Add strips of double sided
tape to your paper and roll onto can. Step 4 {Optional}: Seal the end of the strip with a dab of glue. Step 5: Fill with pretty pens!
Since I am a complete freak about office supplies, I tend to purchase the largest colorful assortments I can find of pens and highlighters. So maybe you only need to make one pretty pen pot because you don’t buy highlighters by the dozen. I, on the other hand, could have filled 12 pots with a variety of writing utensils. Ridiculous, I know.
I absolutely adore my pretty pen pots! They make my office look so happy!

The pen pots are adorable! I also love the prints above your desk! Where are they from?
Look at how adorable your office is! 🙂 Love the cheerfulness, love the pen pots! Adorable… also I was drooling over the bulletin/ pin board that you DIY'd for your hubby's office. I saw the pic on Insta! 🙂
Adorable! I just bought a ridiculous amount of colored pens as well-those colored paper mates are my fave!
i love this idea. my new desk at work needs some sprucing up and this gives me DIY inspiration.
I remember making these in elementary school during craft time!
I absolutely love your little cans! I like the pictures behind them at your desk even more!!! Such a great idea 🙂

Those are adorable! Definitely a DIY I'm going to have to try 🙂
I'm redoing my cubicle and may just try this as I need something new and fun for my writing utensils!

So cute! Pretty pops of color make work so much more bearable! Where did you get the 'celebrate everything' print? I love it!
They look great! Such a fun pop of color and great way to keep pens, pencils, etc. seperated and organized!I'm looking forward to seeing how your office project turned out that you had your hubby help you with!
Oh I love those!! I'm definitely making some for myself. Right now my pens are in a mason jar — it works, but the cans are way cuter. Thanks for sharing!
Your office space is adorable! Very inspiring:)
What a genius idea! I need to do this!
This is such a fantastic DIY! Love the pretty colors, so festive! My office could use some sprucing so I might be stealing this one.
Soooo freaking cute lady! Love them.
Pens pots are cute, but I LOVE your framed sayings in your office. Did you print them yourself?
Really cute.
Oh my word these are the cutest!!! I definitely need to make a couple. xo
Where did you get the quotes from that are in the frames? so cute!
Too cute and would be perfect for a home office whenever we move to a bigger space. 🙂
Such a cute idea – I love this!! I always want to keep cans, but I never know what to do with them. I love this idea! Thank you for sharing!
Love this!! I have a thing for office supplies… my big obsession is with highlighters! hehe
After I saw this I literally tried to think of a recipe that used a ton of cans. I think I'm going to make a couple in varying sizes (big canned tomatoes for all the Sharpies and a little one for paper clips). Thanks for the inspiration
We've long been inspired by urban art and have finally created a collection that pays homage to this secret addiction of ours!
