Five on Friday

Happy Friday—Maycember rolls on!

This week has been a lot in the best way. We’re currently hosting three of Matt’s best friends from high school for their annual golf tournament, and it has been such a blast having a house full of guys reliving their glory days. I put together a little setup in the guest rooms (yes, including hangover kits and a printed itinerary because I can’t help myself), and they’ve been living their best lives—early tee times, Nintendo nights, and plenty of trash talk in between.

Meanwhile, the Maycember chaos continues on the home front—school events, sports, birthday planning, and all the end-of-year fun crammed into these final few weeks. We’re definitely in that stretch of the calendar where everything is happening all at once, but it’s all good stuff.

In Case You Missed It

This week I shared…A LOT — making up for last week!

  • This easy Pencil Snack is the cutest treat ever for a class party activity, bake sales, or just surprising your kids after a big test—and yes, it was featured in Women’s Day magazine!
  • If mosquitoes love you, you need to check out my Mosquito Buckets of Doom—they are going VIRAL on Instagram right now again! They’re cheap, easy to make, safe for pets and pollinators, and effective at knocking out mosquitoes in your yard.
  • My Korean Beef Bowls hit our meal plan this week which reminded me to re-share this easy and delicious recipe. It’s fast, flavorful, and a forever family fave.
  • If you’re prepping for summer camp season, my list of 30+ creative, non-food care package ideas is packed with fun surprises to brighten your camper’s day and help them feel closer to home.

On to the 5…

1. Bingo Loco!!

Last weekend I had the most ridiculously fun night of bingo with some girlfriends, and let me tell you—IT. WAS. WILD. Picture a bingo rave with confetti cannons, glow sticks everywhere, hilarious hosts, a DJ spinning the best 90s throwbacks, and actual bingo. We danced our hearts out, sang at the top of our lungs, and cracked up when we walked outside and realized it was still daylight—it was only 7:30 pm (we hit the 5 pm show), so we grabbed dinner and were all tucked into bed by 10. It was a night I’ll remember forever.

If you’re looking for a different kind of girls’ night, date night, or group hang—I highly recommend Bingo Loco. Just know: this isn’t your grandma’s bingo. It’s chaotic, spicy, and truly unlike anything else. Definitely stalk a few Instagram videos first so you know what you’re getting into.

2. Herb Planter Happiness

My new planter boxes are officially planted and looking so pretty!

I love planting herbs every spring, and this year I swapped out my giant planter for hanging boxes (which are so sleek and modern!) — and I’m obsessed. They’re right outside my office window, and it makes me so happy to glance out and see a little pop of green (and color!). Usually I keep it simple with herbs, but this time I mixed in a few bright flowers alongside my favorites: rosemary, thyme, parsley, and dill.

For now, they’re all thriving. They’re beautiful. They smell amazing. And if history repeats itself…they’ll be fully relying on Matt by mid-June. He pretends to protest, but we both know he’s already invested in their survival.

3. Perfect Spring Pitcher Cocktail: The Hugo Spritz

If you’re looking for the perfect spring cocktail to make on repeat—the Hugo Spritz is it.

Easy, breezy, and basically made for sipping outdoors. It’s light, citrusy, and just sweet enough, with a hit of fresh mint that makes it feel a little fancy. And the best part? You can mix up a whole pitcher in five minutes. Save this for your next girls’ night, backyard dinner party, or pool day. It’s a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.

Pitcher Ingredients:

  • 2 bottles prosecco
  • 10 oz elderflower liqueur
  • 5 oz fresh lime juice
  • Fresh mint + sliced limes
  • Just a little ice to chill

Pro tip: Add the prosecco right before serving so it stays bubbly and crisp.

4. The Prettiest Little Housewarming Trio

Y’all loved my go-to EVOO housewarming gift so much, I wanted to share another gifting fave—The Kitchen Set from Preston Lane. I originally bought the All Purpose Cleaner for myself and instantly fell in love, so I knew the full set would be the perfect gift for a dear friend who just moved into a new home. It comes with hand soap, dish soap, and a countertop spray—and everything smells amazing and feels way fancier than your average kitchen products. Highly recommend this as an easy but thoughtful gift!

5. Bacon Lovers, This One’s For You!

This BLT dip is one of those recipes that never lasts long—and I knew it would be the perfect late-night snack for Matt’s golf weekend (especially paired with Old Fashioneds). It’s another winner from McKinsey’s mom, and it always gets rave reviews.

Just mix 8 oz mayo, 8 oz sour cream, chopped roma tomatoes (seeds removed!), a generous amount of crumbled bacon (plus extra for topping), and a sprinkle of fresh parsley. Serve with crackers, pita chips, or veggies—and watch it disappear.
