My Top 5 Favorites This Week
Doing something a little different this week for Top 5!
You know how after a night or weekend with girlfriends there’s always a series of links dropped into the group chat?! Well, this week’s top 5 faves brought to you by our Community Group Retreat text chain from last weekend…
TOP 5 LINKS THAT MADE IT OUT OF THE GROUP CHAT
And yes, those are period undies. We spent a LOT of time discussing these. Stephanie made us all buy them and swears they are life-changing.
1. Community Group Retreat
Last weekend, we had our Community Group Retreat at The Ballantyne Hotel in Charlotte, and it was pure bliss! This year we switched things up by booking our spa treatments for the evening, giving us a full day at the pool together which was really nice. Afterward, instead of a night out, we cozied up in super cute matching pajamas and enjoyed a fun night in with pizza delivered straight to our room. It was the perfect mix of relaxation and fun. Big thanks to April for capturing the only group photo from the weekend!
2. The Breakfast Menu
As part of a recent campaign, I had the perfect excuse to share one of my favorite morning hacks with you all—my laminated breakfast menu!
Mornings with kids can be hectic, so I came up with a simple breakfast menu hack that’s been a game-changer! I printed out a menu of all the breakfast items we almost always have on hand, then laminated it so I can easily cross things off as we run out.
Not only does it help my kids make their breakfast decisions in the mornings (and no one needs to ask “what do we have for breakfast?”), it also doubles as my grocery list each week.
Also, a big thank you to everyone who engaged with my recent sponsored post on Instagram—your support means the world and helps me keep sharing tips like this!
3. Egg Bites for the Week
Speaking of breakfast, last Sunday was the first time in a looooong time that I meal prepped some egg bites for the week. I actually really dislike meal prepping because it takes so much time out of my weekend, but these were easy to make and have been such a gift to myself each morning!
A few of you asked me for the recipe and I can tell you that the key to fluffy egg bites is cottage cheese!!! In my stand mixer, I added a dozen eggs, about a cup of cottage cheese, a little bit of cheddar cheese, lots of chopped Canadian bacon (which sunk to the bottom), salt and pepper! I baked them for 30’ish minutes, but you’ll know when they are done when you insert a toothpick in the middle and it comes out clean.
4. Matcha Almond Latte
Guess I’m on a food + bev roll this week!
If you like matcha tea, I recently picked up this Califia Farms Matcha Almond Latte from Harris Teeter and really like it! Made with real matcha green tea powder plus creamy almond milk, this drink has been a delicious afternoon treat!
5. Magnesium Oil Spray
I recently refilled my magnesium oil spray and realized I don’t think I’ve ever shared it on here before! Magnesium is definitely having a viral moment right now thanks to TikTok and I am here for it!
This topical spray is pure magnesium chloride oil and you can apply it to lots of areas of your body to help with post-workout muscle recovery, alleviate joint pain, reduce inflammation, enhance sleep, and LOTS of other benefits!
We’ve been using this spray as part of our nightly routine for a while now. Once I’m in bed for the night, I spray the bottom of my feet, and any areas of my body that are sore (usually my hands, knees, my lower back, and any other area that hurts)! Matt thinks it’s a little “woo-woo,” but does let me spray the bottom of his feet to humor me.
