Five on Friday

Happy Friday!

It’s been such a fun week of celebrations, especially because my mom has been in town!

On Wednesday, I turned 38, and today, my mom turned 69.

Over our birthday dinner, we each took turns sharing our high-low-buffalo for the day, and without question, my high was having my mom here to celebrate both of our birthdays together. Living so far apart, we’ve missed out on this for years, so having her here this week has meant everything to me!

Alright, let’s get down to it…

In Case You Missed It

This week I shared…

Breakfast Ideas for Kids -- Strawberry Banana Smoothie

1. Sourdough English Muffins

When I last polled y’all for what I should make with my sourdough starter, a handful of you suggested English muffins! I have always loved English muffins and have never thought of making them from scratch. I gave this recipe a go and oh my gosh, they turned out AMAZING!!!! And they were so easy to make! As soon as I pulled them off the skillet, I sliced them and lathered the warm insides with a generous smear of butter. The entire family raved about these and we ate the entire batch in a weekend! I will definitely be making these again — and doubling the batch to freeze!

2. Halloween Outdoor Decor

We LOVE Halloween and have so much fun decorating the interior and exterior of our home! I try to purchase a few new things each year and rounded up some fun things I’ve come across recently to make our porch extra festive! Shop Halloween Outdoor Decor HERE!

3. Fall Planters

Speaking of our porch, last weekend Matt and I swapped out all the dead summer plants from our porch and pool planters and replaced them with gorgeous fall flowers! Here’s one of my faves!

4. Space Explorers: The Infinite

This week Matt and I were invited to Space Explorers: The Infinite, an immersive VR experience that transports you 250 miles above Earth and onto the International Space Station! This was WILD and SO cool. If you love space, and are curious what the space station is like, you should definitely try this experience while it’s in Charlotte (through November 10)! It’s also open to kids ages 8+.

5. $20 Walmart Slip-On Mules

I had to re-share these $20 slip-on mules from Walmart since they are finally back in stock! I’ve worn these so much lately and think they are the perfect fall shoe. They are comfortable, affordable, and available in 2 colors!

Make mini pizzas with your next batch of English muffins!! We love ours with pepperoni, cheese, black olives and sometimes green pepper diced up. So yummy. 350 degrees for like 10 min or less. Happy Birthday to both you and your mom. What a treasure she got to spend them with you. 🎈🥳🌸🎊
