Well it’s been a whirlwind of week over here. The past two weeks I’ve been traveling a lot and work has been busy, busy, busy — but very excited about all my projects and initiatives!
one. As the primary bedmaker, Matt officially put his foot down on me bringing home any more pillows, so our master bed is finally complete! And I love it SO SO SO much. Details and sources linked below! A full master bedroom post to come soon!
Bed from Craig’s List (similar — love this) // Dresser // Nightstands // Coverlete // Euro Pillows // Velvet Pillow Covers + Inserts // Lamp Base + Shade // Rug // Navy Pillow (monogrammed separately) // Book Page Wreath
two. Fresh Flower Delivery on a Budget! I hope I am about to blow your mind as much as mine was blown when I recently discovered…you can send fresh flowers from AMAZON. WHAT?!?!!? I learned about this in a local Facebook mommy group earlier this week when I was searching for a quality online florist to send a bouquet to a friend. Several moms said they had huge success ordering this bouquet and this bouquet a few times. The mommy reviews raved that the $40 bouquet arrives in bud form and overnight shipping is free! Definitely keep this in mind for Valentine’s Day!
But after all that, I ended up ordering from The Bouqs Co. because I had my heart set on this bouquet (and I had a $15 off promo code), but I am definitely trying Amazon next time.
three. We recently ditched the overpriced snip at crewcuts for a real barber for Thomas. Matt is pretty particular about hair and was super impressed with Colonial Barber Shop in Myers Park (recommended by another boy mama)! There are definitely no airplanes to sit in or toys in the corner, but the cut is meticulous (trimmers, scissors, etc.) and we will definitely go back! Highly recommend if you’re local!
four. A long sleeve Free People top I have been eye balling for the entire season finally went on sale and I scooped it up in two colors and love it so much. I tried to get a good picture of the split back but I couldn’t do the top justice. When it comes back in stock, I highly recommend grabbing one!
five // A sweet blog reader gifted me a custom makeup palette from Maskara Beauty. I hadn’t heard of Maskara Beauty before so I was excited to play around on the site and discover the endless possibilities of makeup combinations to create the perfect palette. My favorite item in my palette is the Dahlia blush! It is gorgeous!
OOO! At 5 pm today I am turning on my out of office for next week! Matt and I are heading to paradise for a few days to take a break from laundry, toddler tantrums and insane workloads. It’s actually kind of crazy because we booked this trip back in July when I was in a very, very bad place. At that time we were planning dad’s funeral and anticipating a slew of upcoming painful holidays and occasions. And if you’ve ever lost or are losing a parent, you know the toll it takes on your marriage. So Matt and I decided that 2018 would be our year to reset and that would start with a trip away together. Well, that trip is HERE…and guess what? SO IS DAD! My heart is so full and happy to go on this trip and come home knowing I’ll get to see my dad just a few weeks later.
We are heading to Grace Bay in Turks & Caicos. Restaurants on our radar include Da Conch Shack, Somewhere Cafe, Infiniti, Coco Bistro, Coyoba, Seven and Cocovan. Let me know if you have any tips or recommendations!
My husband and I are headed there in June! I can't wait to see a blog post about this. Have a great time!
Ah have the best time!! It's one of my top places to get to in the Caribbean! Can't wait to see your pictures :-)Amanda @ Cupcake N Dreams
Good choices (Coco Bistro was our favorite splurge meal) but I personally would skip Da Conch Shack — horrendously long wait despite no crowds, and food was lukewarm and mediocre. Coco Bistro had amazing conch options to get your fix. As an alternative, we LOVED Las Brisas for lunch.
We have reservations at coco bistro!!
Enjoy your trip! How amazing is it that you are in a completely different place that you thought you would be on this trip? God is so gracious. Flowers on Amazon. Is there anything they don't do?!
Amen!!! I couldn’t feel more blessed!! Thank you friend!!!
Ahhh that looks perfect – enjoy your time away! It is so precious. Look at that handsome little man in the barber chair! Love the bouquet I still get mine at the grocer LOL! xo
Enjoy every minute of your vacation! It looks absolutely gorgeous in that picture. And honestly, is there anything you *can't* get on Amazon? That is amazing and I'm definitely going to try it. Your bed is absolutely gorgeous!
Was just there this summer and it’s amazing. If it’s still there after the hurricane I highly recommend Bugaloos. The rum punch is so good and only the views can top it! Have fun.
Just booked a reservation there!!! Thanks friend!!
Enjoy your trip; the quick pic looks dreamy!!
Where is that gorgeous blue hat from?
I’ve been to TCI six times and am headed back this summer. Your restaurant list is good. I’d swap out Infiniti and Cocovan for Magnolia (for amazing views and food) and Le Bouchon for some of the best food in the island. It’s a magical place. Hope you have the best time!
This is super helpful. Those were the places i was on the fence about!!!Any activities we can’t pass up?!
Half day snorkel trip! I would give Island Vibes the edge over Caicos Dream Tours, but both were fun! Hope you have the best time! PM me if you have any questions or want to know anything else. I don’t know if you have a car or where you’re staying in Grace bay, or I could suggest more. So happy for you!
Enjoy your vacay! You deserve it!x S | Design by Sydnee ?
Have the best time!! Y'all deserve it!
We went to Grace Bay on our honeymoon! Loved it! Sounds like you've done your research on restaurants. We especially loved Coyaba! Have a blast!
When you get tired of conch Via Veneto is great for Italian!
Holy cow beyond JEALOUS of this trip! You two SO deserve it!!! RELAX and have a drink (or 10) for me!!
Jealous! Turks is amazing. CoCo Bistro and Infiniti are amazing! Check out Stelle Restaurant at the Gansevoort! If you're looking for a great sportsbar, Danny Bouy's is the place to go in town.
AHHH enjoy your getaway!!!!! (I'm obsessed with how the bed turned out. Absolutely perfect, lady!! I'm pretty sure my husband and Matt would be on the same page with no.more.pillows. lol
Have a wonderful trip!!!
Grace Bay is beautiful! I am so glad to see Somewhere Cafe on your list – it was our favorite the whole trip! We stayed at The Sands so we also really enjoyed our resort's restaurant – HemingwaysAnother great spot for morning coffee and treats is Lemon 2 Go Coffee – SUCH a cute little spot with great stuff to check out while you're waiting, definitely recommend!https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g147399-d2659565-Reviews-Lemon2Go_Coffee-Providenciales_Turks_and_Caicos.html

ANother AMAZING floral delivery service is COSTCO! I just ordered 50 roses for $50 and they come in impeccable shape!
Hoping you fully enjoy your getaway!!! PS – I love The Bouqs. 🙂
Coco bistro and seven are awesome! If you can take a catamaran to iquana island. Conch shack is a lot of fun and great rum punch! We’ve been with kids and without kids
Ahhhh fun! Anthony and I went to Grace Bay T&C in 2012 and it was so amazing. And yes- Coco Bistro was a FAVE! We stayed at the Alexandra and I remember the onsite restaurant Mango was great too! Have SO much fun guys!
We're going to Grace Bay next week too! Maybe we'll see you there 🙂
Is it weird that I had to google OOO? Lol!! But I'm a teacher and we don't use that phrase, so I guess that's why. Have fun!
Would love to hear your thoughts on the maskara palette. Have a blast on your trip-so jealous!
AHHHHHH!!! So excited for y'alls trip! Absolutely cannot WAIT to hear all about it, and see the lovely pix! Have fun, y'all!
Hope you had the best time away!!! Just as you deserve gorgeous friend x
Love the marble look of the palette!! Have a great time on your vacay 🙂
Grace Bay is AMAZING! Coco Bistro is a must…make reservations asap if you haven't already. Also, rent a car from Scooter Bob's. It is so easy and safe to get around the island of Providenciales by car and there are amazing beaches and lagoons to snorkel in. There's a great breezy restaurant called Las Brisas in the Chalk Sound area. It's a fun daytime getaway to have lunch there and then wade in Chalk Sound. Really, you cannot have a bad time in Turks.
I bought that FP top in the fall and wore it on repeat this whole winter. It’s so nice for travel too!
