Let’s make them!

Firecracker Ground Chicken Bowls Ingredients
- Ground Chicken: Opt for lean ground chicken for a lower-fat option, but you can also use ground turkey if you prefer.
- Chili Oil: Chili oil adds a rich, spicy kick to the dish. If you want less heat, use a milder oil or adjust the amount to suit your taste. You can also swap for Trader Joe’s Chili Onion Crunch!
- Brown Sugar: Gives a subtle sweetness that balances the heat. If you prefer, you can swap it out with light brown sugar for a different flavor profile.
- Rice Vinegar: If you don’t have rice vinegar, you can use apple cider vinegar.
- Ground Ginger: If you prefer, you can swap out for fresh ginger.
- Fresh Garlic: If you’re short on time, pre-minced garlic or garlic powder can be used, but fresh is always best for depth of flavor.
- Red Pepper Flakes: Red pepper flakes add spice and a bit of heat. Feel free to adjust the amount based on your heat preference, or leave it out if you prefer a milder dish.
- Rice: I love Trader Joe’s organic microwave jasmine rice for a quick rice option. Serve this over cauliflower rice or zucchini noodles for a lower-carb alternative.
- Broccoli Florets: Fresh broccoli florets work best for this recipe, adding crunch and nutrition. You can also use frozen broccoli, but fresh will give a better texture and will crisp up nicer in the oven. Feel free to add in your favorite veggies to this dish — bell peppers, mushrooms, snap peas, etc.!
- Green Onion: Add a mild, fresh crunch. Be sure to chop both the white and green parts for maximum flavor, or substitute with chives if you don’t have green onions on hand.
