I’ve said this three years in a row but for real this Mother’s Day has been the very best one! This year we have a second mini to celebrate with and Lindsey, Ryan and Jackson were here too! It was truly amazing to be with my sissy on her first mama’s day.
We kicked off Mother’s Day with a big breakfast and played with the kiddos all morning. Lindsey and I exchanged small gifts and we both laughed when we opened them at the same time and they were practically the same gift. I surprised her with my new favorite brow pencil and she surprised me with her favorite mascara and a new nail color. We are totally sisters. The weather was absolutely beautiful so after dropping Lindsey and Ryan off at the airport we took the kids to the park to fly Caroline’s new Disney Princess Kite she got for her birthday! She was really into it for about 7 minutes before she decided she preferred to tangle the kite around her body instead of flying it. Such is life with a two year old.So we moved on to playing with her new Disney Princess Golf Set!Meanwhile I was busy protecting Thomas from flying golf balls. Park dates are one of our most favorite weekend activities. Afterwards the kiddos took 3 hour naps.Matt totally knocked my Mother’s Day gift out of the park this year. Like, big time. He knows my love language is quality time and went wild with a seriously thoughtful gift. Half asleep, I rolled out of bed to brush my teeth and found a card tucked into the toothpaste drawer. Attached to the card was a gift card to my favorite blow-dry bar. I immediately thought “Oh how nice! I hope I actually get to use this!” But then the surprise got better. Inside the card was a really sweet message from Matt and he explained how he already made an appointment for an upcoming Saturday to redeem my gift card for an upgraded blow dry and deep conditioning service. So fancy. Following my appointment I was instructed to get my nails done. Mind blown. He could’ve stopped there but nope…that same evening he has already secured reservations for a surprise date nite and scheduled our babysitter to arrive earlier than normal so we can go grab drinks first. Seriously, he wins Mother’s Day and now I have no clue how to beat this for Father’s Day.The gift from the minis was on point too. I let the underage purchase slide only because of the appropriateness of the occasion. But just this once. The kids also brought home the sweetest gifts from daycare. Tear jerker warning…Right?! Puddle. Of. Tears. For both moms/grandmas we gifted them with Mother’s Day journals. All four of us each wrote a little note inside and each year we will collect the journals a few weeks before Mother’s Day to pen annual messages (or colored pictures) for them. They both really loved their journals and the idea! And that’s a wrap on another amazing Mother’s Day. I am so dang lucky to be the mama of Thomas and Caroline and count my blessings every day!

Daaaaaaaang, girl! What a sweet hubby! And that's the best gift that y'all gave, too. And the daycare gift - sniff! Love it! I'm totally one of those moms who saves every single craft made at daycare. Sappy overload.

Such a special weekend! I love the journal idea. I might have to steal that one. Also, your husband really had thoughtful gifts. I know you two will enjoy that time together. Glad you got some sister time, as well as that beautiful park time. Happy Mother's Day.
