We had a great weekend! Let’s rewind it…
Friday I surprised the kids with a lunch date at school! It was the most beautiful day to eat outside and the kids were so excited when they spotted me waiting for them with bags of Chick-fil-A.
Friday night we had Family Movie Night! And for dessert, we were spoiled with the most delicious Dominican cake made by our project manager’s wife!
We spent most of Saturday tackling more house projects. I cleaned a bunch of walls and baseboards while Matt assembled our new playroom couch, unpacked boxes, and moved furniture around. Meanwhile, the kids played with some friends in the neighborhood! It was a rainy day, so Caroline and Mara baked the most delicious brownies, and Thomas and Noah played lots of video games.
We are all SO happy to finally have a huge sofa to sit on! Matt found this ginormous sectional sofa on Amazon and we are really happy with it so far. It arrived fast, was a breeze to assemble, offers a ton of storage, and is comfortable! You can configure it in a bunch of different ways too which was a huge selling point for us — especially for larger sleepovers. If you’re in the market for an affordable sofa, I highly recommend watching the video on this one. It’s super cool.
Saturday evening Caroline and Matt went to dinner with some school friends and then to the daddy-daughter sock hop! Y’all know I love a party theme and this one has got to be one of my favorites yet! How cute is Caroline in her little poodle skirt?!
While Caroline and Matt were dancing the night away, Thomas and I met our friends for a delicious and fun hibachi dinner! Afterward, Thomas went home with his bestie for a sleepover.
Sunday morning we finished up a few projects and then Matt and I took Caroline out to a “fancy lunch” (her request) at 131 Main while Thomas was at a laser tag birthday party.
Sunday evening we grilled out and then everyone collapsed into bed early after a fun weekend!
