the mice will play.
Last weekend I had the house to myself for the first time ever. Matt flew to Chicago on Friday for a guy’s weekend with some of his best friends. Since I am the one who travels for work, Matt is used to having the house to himself for a few days. However, this time it was me who got the house. Just Charlie and I, all weekend…
1. I started off the weekend right with a pedicure, magazine and Starbucks. 2. I got 2 inches trimmed off my locks. It’s amazing how much lighter my hair feels! 3. Lots of shopping. I hit Nordstrom rack and found a pair of boots I’ve been wanting for 75% off! HECK YES! I also stocked up on some workout shirts on sale ($10 each) from Old Navy, and grabbed some small items for the house at World Market. 4. Charlie and I went for several long walks since it was so beautiful all weekend. 5. CRAFTING! Duh. 6. Mmmm – Ben & Jerry’s Cinnamon Buns ice cream. It has real pieces of cinnamon bun swirled in. Oh my goodness, it is heavenly. 7. Extra long baths every day included wine and reading. 8. The neighbors came by with fresh eggs from their chickens. 9. I hung Boston Ferns from the porch!
I could get use to a Christina weekend (every once in awhile)!

I always miss my husband when he travels (it's not very often, at least), but also LOVE having the house and my time to myself!! It's amazing how much I can get accomplished when I'm on my own, too! Looks like a wonderful weekend 🙂
I did the same things and boy was it wonderful!
Ooh, what are you crafting? Love this post, love World Market and how cool is it that your neighbors brought you fresh eggs? Very neighborly! Happy Monday!
I'm super jealous of your fun and relaxing weekend to yourself! We all need some alone time every now and then!
Oooh super jealy! And I think it's time I try that ice cream. Sounds amazing!
I LOVE weekends of alone time, girl time, and lots of ice cream 😉
Sounds SO awesome!!! Can't wait to see how that craft turns out! I'm saving wedding papers to do a similar one! Happy Monday!
It's so refreshing to have that much needed time by yourself every now and then! It seems like you were able to relax and have a productive weekend, too! 🙂 Love those ferns–looks great!
This all sounds heavenly!!! I remember those days 😉
How fun!! I currently live by myaelf so every day is one of those days (it's not as glamorous as it sounds!!)
I haven't had a weekend like that in a LONG time!!!
I love having the house to myself, ha! I can do all types of girly things! Looks like you had a great weekend! I'm jealous! 🙂
not so secretly jealous of your weekend alone! we love our husbands, obviously, but it's great to have a little time to yourself! how did your wreath turn out? i'm wanting to make one for our dining room!
My husband was also out of town this weekend. I think that was a first – and as much as I missed him, I kinda loved the time alone at home 🙂
This sounds like the best weekend ever! I could use one of those!
How much fun! I am a big fan of solo weekends when I can get so much done and watch whatever I WANT! No ESPN, no Simpsons, no History Channel!
Since being married, I really enjoy the OCCASIONAL weekend when my husband is out of town! I rarely get "me" time anymore, so it's nice. I will say though that I'm always, always, always glad for him to come back home!
This sounds SO nice….. can't say I'd hate a weekend all to myself every now and then [although I don't think it's ever happened, so I don't quite know what I'd do]!And can we please discuss that your neighbors brought over fresh eggs from their chickens????? Wonderful people like this exist? Mind asking them if they happen to have a bright colored (dyed) baby chick that J could borrow for Easter and then we'd promptly return? HA!!So now you've inspired me to pick up an US Weekly when I run to the grocery store in a minute along with some new bubble bath. If momma can't get a weekend all to herself, I'll at least pretend! ;)So glad you made the most of your time to yourself!
How Fun! "Me" time is always great:) I also am the one who travels for work so I look forward to having the house to myself once in a while. Of course, we miss our hubbys but it's good for everyone;)
I too love "Me Time". I love not having anyone to answer to and can eat anything I want.
There is truly nothing better than a little "me time"….and every girl needs it. I just wish my hubby traveled more…I could use a good weekend every now and again. Ha! I loved your schedule – fun and perfect. Glad you enjoyed. 🙂
Sounds like you had the perfect weekend! Everyone needs one of those weekends every now and then, gives you a chance to have a little you time and recharge!
You are too cute…looks like you had a blast! I'm glad I'm not the only one with a small size 6 foot 🙂
