Allow me to introduce my Memorial Day weekend homemade cocktail – red wine spritzers!

Warning: these drinks are so refreshing and delicious you will drink them like juice!

1/2 pint strawberries, diced
1 large gala apple, diced
2 medium peaches, diced
1/2 pint blueberries
1 bottle, 750 ml, red wine
1 quart sprite zero {or sparkling water}, chilled

Use a variety of your favorite fruits.
Fill the bottom of a pitcher with a mixture of diced fruits. Pour wine in to cover, and let stand 10 minutes. Top glasses with sprite zero when you are ready to serve.

Southern Proper Monogram Giveaway

From drinkware and linens, to silver and jewelry, I am a lover of all things monogram. There is just something so charming and personal about the southern tradition of embellishing items with your initials. So, a few months ago when I stumbled across the popular Southern Proper birch wood monogram pin, I knew I had to have it, and I knew exactly where it would go...

our master bedroom! I absolutely love it!

Voila - a little bit of southern charm makes for a big statement!

A little more info about Southern Proper's monogram: their three-letter monograms are cut from 1/4" birch wood (thicker than the 6", 8" and 10") and offer the perfect size for the inside of a door wreath. And of course, the bigger the better! The 12-inch monogram can be used alone with a ribbon on your door, over a bed or fireplace. Each of our monograms are cut from UNFINISHED WOOD, ready for paint, glitter or whatever you can imagine. They recommend spray-painting your monograms with several thin coats in the color of your choice. If you would like to add glitter, they recommend Martha Stewart® fine glitters.

Pesto & Goat Cheese Pasta

This week has been such a whirlwind with our fur baby in the hospital. Realizing late last night how overdue for a trip to the Harris Teeter I was, I decided to throw some random ingredients together for dinner. So, I present to you, Pesto & Goat Cheese Pasta!

I was pleasantly surprised with how quickly I whipped this together. Oh, and it was delicious.

First, I sauteed baby portabella mushrooms with onions and garlic in butter, until tender.

Then I dumped half of a container of goat cheese and pesto on top! Okay, fine, I dumped the whole container of goat cheese on top, oops.

After a few minutes, I had a deliciously creamy mixture that I poured on top of whole wheat pasta. I sprinkled fresh parsley on top for color and voila...

Creamy Pesto & Goat Cheese Pasta!

Any suggestions for quick and easy dinners are welcomed!

B+P Farm Wedding

Last weekend, my favorite couple, Brynn and Palmer, tied the knot at The Farm in Asheville, NC. Thank goodness Brynn picked bridesmaids dresses with pockets because I definitely needed my tissues during the ceremony. From the bridal luncheon and rehearsal dinner, to the ceremony and reception, the entire weekend was perfect!
The venue was absolutely breathtaking.
There were several cabins on the property for guests to stay in for the weekend, one of which was reserved for the bridesmaids! It was so nice to walk right out to the ceremony/reception after getting ready all day together.
Our cabin balcony!
Brynn and Palmer exchanged sweet letters to one another before the ceremony. It was such a sweet moment.
We all couldn't stop taking pictures of Brynn after she got into her dress. She truly was the most perfect bride ever.
Check out the bouquets! They were full of soft peonies, garden roses, lambs ear, ranunculus, hydrangeas and more.
Time for the ceremony...
 beautiful, right?!
Time to party!
During cocktail hour, guests picked up their seating card from a well decorated birdcage. Since I love to tackle projects like this {and Brynn likes my penmanship} I was designated to write all the wedding place cards.
My handsome wedding date!

First dance as Mr. & Mrs.
The tent was decked out in flowers and lights.

For a year, Brynn's mom collected china for the wedding. There were so many different pieces and it truly made the place-settings so special.

The head table was stunning! Brynn and her mom successfully collected vintage china for over a year in preparation for the wedding day meal!
Not only was the cake so pretty, but it was delicious. Yes, those peonies are real!
The rest of the evening was spent dancing barefoot to an amazing band, feeding the horses outside the barn, tossing the bouquet, drinking Firefly lemonades on the porch, a Kappa Delta candlelight and late night pizza...
I think the pictures speak for themselves but this was one of the most fun weddings I've ever been to.
Guests picked up lace ribbon wands for the sendoff
...and the newlyweds are off to their honeymoon in Anguilla! Love you two!
