How Well Does Your Spouse Know You?

A few weeks ago Melissa over at The Life Of A Not So Ordinary Wife hosted a “How Well Does Your Spouse Know You?” {link up} for married couples. Now, this is right up my alley because I am constantly annoying Matt with these types of questions (ie: What’s my favorite color, restaurant, season, etc.). Most of these are actually trick questions because I am always changing my favorites.
Anyway, I asked Matt to fill out the questionnaire over dinner the other night and this is how he did…

Christina: 1 year, 3 months

Matt: Baked Steak with Butter & Veggie Enchiladas
Christina: Vegetarian enchiladas, Baked Steak, everything!

What is the worst meal she has ever cooked you?
Matt: That Balsalmic Mushroom Thingy
Christina: Stuffed Balsalmic Portabello Mushrooms

What is the most-played song on her iPod?
Matt: something by Mumford & Sons or Florence & The Machine
Christina: anything by Mumford & Sons

What would she say is your most annoying habit?
Matt: Not listening
Christina: Taking forever to lock up the house and come to bed

What is the last thing she does before she goes to bed?
Matt: flail around like a tornado

Well, I guess he got most of them right so I’ll give him a B+ on this one. Want to take the quiz with your hubby? Find the questions {here}

A Furry Birthday

Yesterday we celebrated Charlie's 7th birthday! Gosh, how time flies! It seems like it was just yesterday that we threw his 6th Birthday Pawty {post here}.
After Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans during Matt's final year of law school in New Orleans, Charlie's parents were rescued from St. Charles Avenue. Soon thereafter, Charlie was born on Mardi Gras and he has been partying ever since.
So to spoil our fur baby on his birthday, we started off the day with a custom peanut butter banana cake from Canine Café.
It only took him 25 seconds to devour his cake...
Afterwards we went for a 2 hour birthday walk with Charlie's fur friend Abigail.

Happy Birthday Charlie!

Loving Lately

Hey there! Sorry for the hiatus this week. I am finally getting the hang of the new laptop. I forgot how much work it is to set all your settings, organize all your documents, bookmark your favorites, transfer everything from the old to the new, etc. Also, thanks for all of the "back up" recommendations.

Okay, let's get right down to business. A few things I'm loving lately...

L'Oreal's Colour Caresse Wet Shine Stain: I am a total sucker for good commercials, so when I saw L'Oreal's new lip stain advertisement I immediately had to have it in “Pink Resistance.” I love how much longer it lasts on my lips than other lip glosses. Even after a full meal, the shine fades but the color definitely stays. For $7.99, I highly recommend picking up a tube during your next Target run.
Guacamole: I cannot stop eating this stuff lately. I have been making it as a “side dish” for dinner, like every night. You know, tacos and guacamole, pizza and guacamole, pasta and guacamole. The perfect complement to any entrée, right? Okay, fine. Maybe not.  Regardless, here is the recipe:

4 Ripe Avocados
2 Limes, juiced
1 Roma Tomato, diced
1 Small Red Onion, diced
1 Jalapeno, deseeded and diced
1/2 cup Cilantro, chopped
1 tsp Ground Cumin
1 tsp Fresh Ground Black Pepper
Kosher Salt to Taste

Mix all of the ingredients together until well blended.
Snow! We had our first {and probably only} snow in Charlotte last weekend. It was so fun to see our home covered in 3 inches of white powdery snow for the first time. And I wasn't the only person excited for a snow day…

That boy looooves his football!
New laptop: When did Toshiba start packaging their laptops in pizza boxes?
Bagel Sandwiches: My new lunch go-to for the week, sans turkey. I start with an everything bagel thin and add a layer of Trader Joes White Bean Hummus, a thick tomato slice, alfalfa sprouts, a thin slice of provolone, avocado and whatever else I can find in the fridge.

Be Back Soon!

After 6 great years, my faithful Toshiba laptop bit the dust over the weekend. I am still mourning the loss of some of my pictures that were unrecoverable after the unexpected hard drive crash.
Thankfully Matt quickly approved the purchase of a new laptop and off to Best Buy we went to pick out a new one {another Toshiba, of course}. Apparently a lot has changed since the Windows Vista days because I feel like my Grandpa trying to navigate my new laptop.
I promise to be back soon! In the meantime, I would love to know what you use to "back up" your pictures, documents, etc...
