There wasn’t a more perfect weekend than Cinco de Mayo weekend to celebrate back to back parties for a special bridey! On Saturday, 12 of us threw Kristen a yellow themed bridal shower. Later that evening some close family friends of Kristen also threw her an absolutely beautiful poolside engagement party.

Each of the hosts signed up to bring a few appetizers. The menu from left to right: donuts, chocolate and vanilla cake pops, caprese skewers, chicken nuggets, brie & raspberry cups, veggie platter, fruit salad, pimento cheese and chicken salad sandwiches, shrimp bruschetta.
{the desserts}
{the mimosa bar}
The shower was held at McKinsey’s home which just so happens to already have a yellow theme! How adorable, cozy and happy is this living room? That girl is talented!

{gifts}
{After we tied all the gift ribbons to a plate for Kristen’s rehearsal bouquet, our favorite northern girl in the group showed our southern bride a tradition where you tie the bouquet to your head like a hat. I’m still not sure if this was made up or not.}
{champagne party favors}
And several hours later…the engagement party! Regrettably, I didn’t take nearly enough pictures to do this party justice. I blame the wine.

Party day success!
Both parties were just gorgeous!I love the yellow and all the yummy dishes!
Those parties both look incredible! I had no idea the ribbon hat was a northern thing, but I've seen it done at many bridal & baby showers!
Love it all! And yes, it's a northern tradition for the hat 🙂
Wow, just wow!! I loved your insta pics over the weekend!! What beautiful parties!! Looks like you had a great weekend!!
I want her living room furniture!! What a BEAUTIFUL shower!!
What a beautiful shower! The food looks fabulous and her home is just gorgeous! I'm a Carolina girl living up north and at my local bridal shower, the hosts made a bow hat for me so I can vouch its not made up! 🙂
What a darling shower, that I'm sure she'll always remember. I LOVE yellow, so vibrant, I'm sure it was a fun time.

What a fantastic and beautiful yellow shower. It looks absolutely perfect. I am not surprised at al 😉
As a northern girl, it was a new idea to me for the ribbons & bows plate to be tied like a hat! I loved the idea of champagne party favors. May have to steal that idea for a future wedding!! Love your polka dot dress! 🙂
Any idea where that invite is from?
I think Minted or Tiny Prints…
What a BEAUTIFUL day!! Both parties! Over here across Charlotte we had crazy winds, as I'm sure y'all did too, but you sure didn't let it bring the party down! And those champagne bottle favors – the cutest ever 🙂 Y'all are perfect hostesses!
Love it all. The Yellow shower looks fabulous.
So beautiful! I must ask where are those pitchers from that the mimosas are in!? So cute and I need some pitchers!
