Ryder Cup Birthday Party

A few weeks ago Matt asked me if he could host a few guys over to watch the Ryder Cup golf tournament. Then we realized the tournament actually coincided with my birthday…so I said…”OH YES!…but let’s add the ladies and make it a party!” Y’all know I love a themed party so I immediately got to work planning a Ryder Cup birthday party (for both me and my birthday twin, Laura!)…

Everyone loved the themed and arrived in their most festive golf attire. I knew Matt and Aaron were up to something when I learned they were keeping their outfit a “secret.” And when Matt walked outside in his Jordan Spieth shirt and Aaron showed up a few minutes later in his Justin Thomas shirt I died laughing.

I kept the food super simple so I could focus on decor and cocktails. We had BBQ delivered from Midwood Smokehouse. Laura brought some delicious appetizers. And for dessert, Michelle surprised us with the most gorgeous birthday cake made by Suarez Bakery!

We also got festive with the cocktails. I tasked my friend Justin (the mixologist King) with coming up with our signature cocktail recipe and he came through big time. I had all of our “Double Eagle” ingredients ready for him when he arrived and he whipped up several pitchers throughout the party — it was a big hit!

I also made a tray of fun and festive jello shots. They were a 2-day labor of love recipe process but also a big hit!

The party was filled with spectacular dance parties, lots of hilarious (and very competitive) games…oh, and golf! This crew really made turning 35 (& 36 for Laura!) memorable. What an amazing celebration with amazing friends!
