It was my turn to host Supper Club this month, and I went all in on an autumn table setting and a full fall theme for the evening. We had dinner on my back porch, and pulling the table together was easily my favorite part…before the girls arrived.
The vibe was so cozy, the cocktails were flowing, and by the end of the night, we had a running list of links to send out from all the fun conversations around the table.

Signature Cocktail
I welcomed the girls with Fall French 75 cocktails, which is one of my favorites for hosting. It’s festive, easy to batch ahead of time, and all you have to do is top each glass with champagne as guests arrive. This version gives the classic French 75 a cozy fall twist by adding a homemade cinnamon simple syrup with the perfect hint of sweet spice. It also looks elegant (especially with a lemon twist) and always gets rave reviews.

Cozy Autumn Table Setting
For my autumn table setting I used warm, classic colors: yellows, oranges, and greens, with woven chargers and soft lighting from candles and cordless touch lamps. I had everything on hand for the table except the flowers, which I picked up fresh for the evening. I used a mix of clear bud vases filled with red and yellow dahlias, along with a few wispy wildflowers to keep things light and natural. I also scattered red and orange spiral taper candles down the center of the table, which gave off the prettiest glow once the sun set.

Once the sun set and the candles really started to glow, it felt like the coziest fall vibes.

Fall Dinner Menu
As much as I love to cook, I almost always outsource the food when I’m hosting a dinner party. Between setting the table, pulling myself together, and picking up the house, it’s one less thing to stress about. And as a content creator, I’ve learned the hard way that trying to snap photos after lighting the candles and stirring something on the stove at the same time always leads to hostess neuroris.
So for this dinner, I called in my sweet and talented friend Caroline, who owns cArey Out!, a Charlotte-based meal service offering weekly prepared heat-and-eat lunches and dinners. Caroline created a delicious and elevated fall menu for us, and I quickly qhipped up a little menu card in Canva to set at each place setting. She made the most incredible beef bourguignon over mashed potatoes, served with crispy kale chips dusted in nutritional yeast. And for dessert—pumpkin custard with a graham cracker crumble (which I’m still dreaming about).

My only food contribution was the appetizer: a whipped hot honey goat cheese spread, served inside a white pumpkin with pumpkin cranberry crisps for dipping.

Our Supper Club is truly something so special. We’ve been gathering around each other’s dinner tables monthly since 2015, and it’s always a night I genuinely look forward to. If you’ve ever thought about starting a dinner club, I would tell you to absolutely go for it! I wrote a post all about How Supper Club Got Started with everything we’ve learned along the way.
