We have our first completed room in the house — Thomas’s room! No longer is he sharing the guest room or sissy’s closet — he finally has his very own space and his very own closet! His room is simple and cozy and I love it so much!
So this is what we started with — beige walls, broken blinds, a boob light and dirty carpet.
The first thing we did was paint the walls Sea Salt by Sherwin Williams. I had planned to have it cut by 50% but forgot to tell the painters and came by one day and the room had already been painted…and the color was beyond perfect. I am so glad we went full strength by accident! This paint color is my favorite in the house!
After the room was painted we replaced the ugly yellow boob light (never photographed) with a white ceiling fan and added a soccer ball pull chain so I could operate the fan (short people problems). We also had the carpets professionally steam cleaned and I couldn’t believe the transformation — they looked brand new afterwards!
And now for the finished room…
I am most proud of this little room because we re-used almost everything we already had to create it. The only things we purchased were a dresser and curtain rod.
A few of Tom Tom’s favorite books right now.
Caroline helped us pick out two pieces of artwork to frame. Naturally, she picked the art she created and then gifted them to Thomas. And she makes sure to remind him every time we’re in there that she made those!
One more favorite (that I’ve blogged about before) — the Twilight Turtle for bedtime!
And just to keep it real — I snapped this picture shortly after getting Thomas out of his bed this morning so you could see what his room really looks like…(yes, that’s a dirty diaper that hasn’t made it to the trash can yet)…
Ta-da! Our first completed room in the new house!

Love it!! It looks great!!
What a beautiful, fresh lovely space. I'm betting the carpet looks better because of the new colour.
Oh, I love it! The paint color alone was a transformation, perfect girl!
I love it!!! Looks fantastic- especially love the color you chose for the walls!!
I love the wall color! And who is the OSU fan in your family? Lol
I love it so much! That paint color is gorgeous!
Very clean and bright- great looking space! Our house is sea salt too and we get loads of compliments on the color- it is a fantastic one!
It looks great! So much light and I love how clean and open it looks!
The place itself looks great with good pub area, and a much larger upstairs beer hall. Nice decor at venues in Los Angeles with brick walls, wooden bench seating, and chalkboard beer lists showing off the day's selections.
So simple and perfect for a little boy! I love it!! And how adorable is that framed artwork? Genius idea!
Love it, the sea salt looks so good!! We have those sailboat sheets too.
I love the simple and bright space! Caroline's artwork is the perfect touch. Jess at Just Jess
I love that you referenced the boob light because I know EXACTLY what you are talking about. It looks so good!
What a transformation!!!! It is just gorgeous, girl! I love the paint color and I love the simplicity of it all. And we ADORE the Twilight Turtle! Our son has had one in his room for years and we just got a bunny for our daughter!
I'm absolutely obsessed with how calm this room feels!! Our bedroom is a variation of sea salt (I think?) and it's seriously the happiest room in the house. I just wake up and feel GOOD! I'm glad that Thomas gets that experience, too. ๐
So clean, pretty and timeless. I also love that it's fairly neutral and not overly "boy-ish." Well done, Mama!
Love the Sea Salt color! Oh, this post makes me (almost) miss those days with the Kendall crib. But not enough to want another baby. ๐ haha. Great job on the room. He's going to love it!
His room looks beautiful! It's getting me all excited to decorate our nursery!
It looks lovely.

Hahaha! Boob light. I'm glad I'm not the only one who NEEDS to replace all of them in the house. My husband just laughs at me. I LOVE that grey.
LMAO I am so glad I'm not the only one who calls them that… You did a great job!
What a lovely room.. I agree with the boob light.. though we still have them in a few places around the house.. http://www.henatayeb.blogspot.com
so crisp and clean
I want to take a nap in that room! It looks so soothing ๐
Nice Blog for re finishing of furniture. If you favor to have both functional and pretty Teak outdoor furniture, then go for wrought iron furniture. Teak furniture can make your patio area look fashionable and lively. latest
Not going to lie.. my favorite part is the little brutus in there ๐
What a perfect space for your little man! x
