Five on Friday: A Link-up!

  Hey there! It's Friiiiiiday!
  You  know the drill!

  - ONE - My new bracelet from J.Crew Factory Outlet arrived this week and I am obsessed! I scored this pretty gold & crystal link bracelet on sale for $21 online! Want one? Find it {here}!
- TWO - After giving up on the 6 month wait list at the library, I decided to purchase The Happiness Project for the beach. So far it is definitely living up to the hype!
- THREE - Coffee in bed every morning for the past 2 months.
I guess Matt still thinks he needs to campaign for "hubby of the year" {which clearly he won with the surprise Michael Kors watch last month}, but every morning he has been going to a 5:30 am F3 workout and swings by Bruegger's Coffee on the way home to pick up a cup of French Toast coffee. By the time he gets home I am checking my instagram  just getting out of bed to a hot magical cup of joe.
PS - Am I the only one who thinks preparing the coffee pot before I go to bed for the next morning is the worst chore ever? Seriously, I'd rather clean our toilet every day. I hate making the coffee. Tell me I'm not alone.

- FOUR - Since Matt and I are trying to slim down for our summer vacation we've been packing in the protein for dinner. I usually have all of these foods in my house on a weekly basis since they are all my favorites so this dinner is easy to pull together. It also happens to be super cheap - like $3 for two plates of food. Win win.
 {Seasoned black beans, avocado, egg whites with fresh salsa & roasted sweet potatoes}

- FIVE - I am absolutely addicted to Starbuck's Passion Tea. This week Starbuck's was offering half off drinks between 3-5 pm so Mel and I made sure to take advantage of the deal every single day with a venti sized tea.
Wanna join  Darci, April, Natasha and I on the Friday fun? You can link-up on any of our four blogs every Friday! All you have to do is...

  5. New follower to your blog! Loving this linkup and that bracelet! Oh my gah!

  6. LOVE Passion tea! Happy to finally be linking up with you ladies!

  7. Loving that bracelet! J. Crew factory has had the best sales lately. Girl, I hate prepping the coffee pot, too. Invest in a Keurig - it eliminates all the yucky clean up and you can get a reusable pod that is a breeze to clean to hold your favorite coffee.

  8. That JCrew bracelet is super cute and I am also obsessed with Starbuck's Passion Tea Lemonade.

  9. Definitely invest in a Keurig! No prep, ridiculously easy cleanup and a huge variety of coffee types and flavors - you can try three in one day! I read The Happiness Project last year but I'm thinking of re-reading it, it was such a great book!

  10. Okay, is Matt trying to give my hubs a run for his money {totally sharing the morning coffee story so maybe he'll up his game}. Hahaha!!! But really, that is so sweet ---- what I would give for 1/2 of that willpower to make it to a 5:30 workout! It would be record breaking if that happened once or twice a year here at our little casa! ;)

As for the coffee ---- I hear ya! Morning coffee is a MUST! And I completely agree with Elizabeth about the Keurig. Absolute game changer and it's just SO EASY. The last year I was working I bought a skinny vanilla latte at Starbucks 5 days a week. $4 a day X 5 week days X 52 weeks a year = over $1,000 annually! It never dawned on me how much I was spending until I got the Keurig! It was just my routine and I loved them! Cason bought me a Keurig that Christmas and I've never looked back. You'll truly save some $ w/ a Keurig and all of the k-cups are so fun (lemonade, nutty hazelnut iced coffee - my fave, chai lattes, etc).

As for your healthy eating, please teach me your ways....your "protein plate" looks really, really good!

Happy Friday, sweet friend....loved reading your 'five" and likely should have just emailed ya instead of writing this short story. Word.

  13. Matt is putting all the other guys to shame! haha I agree that once i decide to go to bed, any extra task seems like the worst thing ever, coffee prepping included!!

  14. Coffee/tea in bed is THE way to start the morning! Hubby knows what's up!

Your protein plate is such a good idea to stock up on and have around for easy dinners- genius!

  15. I took advantage of the half priced drinks this week too. love them! I even planned my little one's naps around 3pm so I could get there and not wait forever in line. I may have an addiction!

  16. Your husband is so sweet to bring you coffee in bed every morning! I should mention that to my husband. ha! I have coffee in bed every morning with my son while we watch a few cartoons---it's my favorite time of day!

  17. Your plate pic on IG forced me to buy sweet potatoes at the grocery store this week. They looked delicious!

Hatred of coffee making forced my hand into a Keurig.

  18. LOVE the bracelet! Curious, how do you roast your sweet potatoes?

  19. Coffee in bed...go hubby! We use our coffee pot to make tea and it is a pain to clean!!

Love that bracelet, went to the outlets last week and they were out so I need to order it online.

That food looks perfect for any time of the day. Have a great weekend! xo

  20. wow, that bracelet looks precious!!!! Iam stuck to chai tea latte or tazo tea. I need to try the passion tea!

  21. girl! if your mister didn't serve you coffee in bed every morning, i'd totally recommend getting yourself a keurig but since he does, you're obviously doing something right! haha xo

  22. Oh my goodness... I love that J Crew bracelet... may have to get one myself. Looks great with your watch, too!

    ReplyDelete
  23. LOVE that bracelet and beyond jealous of the coffee delivery. :) Will be copying that protein packed dinner soon!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I don't think there is much worse than prepping the coffee pot. Except maybe...emptying the dishwasher. That is a real close second.

    ReplyDelete
  25. The only thing I hate more than prepping the coffee pot the night before is packing my lunch the night before. Why are these such daunting tasks? BTW I luurve that J. Crew Factory bracelet, and it looks great paired with your watch!

    ReplyDelete
  26. I have been obsessed with the Passion Tea lately. It is such a great summery drink. The bracelet/watch combo looks perfect!

  27. That coffee quote is hilarious. I am always up hours before my hubby so literally I always make my own coffee. I would cry if someone brought me some!!!

Love that JCrew bracelet, looking into it now. So sparkly!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I LOVE your Michael Kors watch (and that bracelet!). I am asking the hubs for a MK watch for my bday. Wish me luck. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  29. The bracelet is $18 today and I am adding it to my cart! thanks for the tip! ;) And I have heard that book is a must read... I think it's time to add it to my list. Happy Friday!

  30. So great that you get coffee in the morning. I felt the same way about making coffee then when I got pregnant I switched to tea. It's easier. My husband puts on the water.

    I linked up again.

  31. Oh my gosh, the coffee stuff cracks me up. Sooooo me! My hubs does NOT drink coffee!!! I can't ever get over that. I can't even relate to anyone until I have had my coffee in the am. I am obsessed with my Keruig for that reason...All I have to do is make sure it's full of water and then I pop in a k-cup and it's ready in seconds. It's the little things!! Would LOVE coffee delivered to me though. That would be amazing! Cheers to Friday! xo, Ashley

  32. I agree with Laura, packing my lunch the night before/morning is my least favorite thing. I can handle the coffee because we have a Keurig.
