My top 5 favorite items in September…
1. My Walking Pad + Desk Riser
Had to start with my favorite purchase of 2024 — my walking pad!
My productivity has increased so much, and so have my steps! Unless it’s a content filming day, I’m usually at my desk in my office for most of the day. Despite daily walks with Mabel and workouts, I often struggle to hit my 10K steps goal. So, I decided to invest in a walking pad and desk riser, and I absolutely love it. I’ve been walking almost every day and consistently hitting between 10K-16K steps!
Stepping onto the walking pad for the first time felt odd, and I wasn’t sure I’d be able to type and walk simultaneously. I started out at just 1 mph, but by lunchtime, I had completely forgotten I was even walking. Now, I’m comfortably walking at 2.5 mph (though my friend, who convinced me to get a walking pad, walks at 3.4 mph!).
There are plenty of walking pads with more bells and whistles, but mine is basic, affordable, and perfect for my needs. It comes with a remote for adjusting the speed, which maxes out at 3.8 mph. I also didn’t want to replace my large desk, so I bought a 26″ desk riser. The workstation is spacious enough to hold my laptop, monitor, keyboard, and mouse!
2. Bent Mascara Fan
This mascara fan has been all over my Instagram feed, thanks to the beauty influencers I follow, so I had to try it out for myself! You can use it for both top and bottom lashes, but I picked it up specifically for applying mascara to my bottom lashes (I’m still obsessed with false lashes on top). And let me tell you — I get the hype! This tool enhances your lashes for a much more natural look than a traditional mascara wand, and it completely eliminates clumps. I simply swipe the brush with my mascara wand and then paint my bottom lashes. And then wash the brush after each use. Love it.
3. Magnesium Oil Spray
I recently refilled my magnesium oil spray and realized I don’t think I’ve ever shared it on here before! Magnesium is definitely having a viral moment right now thanks to TikTok and I am here for it!
This topical spray is pure magnesium chloride oil and you can apply it to lots of areas of your body to help with post-workout muscle recovery, alleviate joint pain, reduce inflammation, enhance sleep, and LOTS of other benefits!
We’ve been using this spray as part of our nightly routine for a while now. Once I’m in bed for the night, I spray the bottom of my feet, and any areas of my body that are sore (usually my hands, knees, my lower back, and any other area that hurts)! Matt thinks it’s a little “woo-woo,” but does let me spray the bottom of his feet to humor me.
4. Matt’s Favorite Gym Shorts
It’s not often that Matt says I have to share something…but he is really loving these quick-dry gym shorts — so much that he has purchased them in 5 colors! They are similar to Chubbies but for a fraction of the price. He loves the built-in compression liner, length, and comfortable elastic fabric. They also have a towel loop, a back pocket, and 2 deep side pockets. And honestly, they look really great on him too! Available in lots of fun color combos.
5. DID YOU FEED THE DOG?
This tracker has helped me not panic after the kids get on the bus in the mornings and I’m not sure if anyone fed Mabel or not.
Products Refills
- Meal Planner Pad: I went to repurchase my meal planner pad and it doubled in price! So I found a new one that is inexpensive and I love it just as much — it’s a little bigger, has a perforated grocery list, simple design, and a magnet for the fridge.
- Wellness Defense Complex Chewables for the kids! This supplement contains a powerful blend of vitamins, herbs and nutrients including echinacea, elderberry, astragalus, marshmallow, mushrooms, and zinc. We use it to boost our kids immune systems at the beginning of the school year.
