I recently hosted the girls on my tennis team for the cutest little tennis team party at my house — a tennis shoe charm bar! Everyone brought a pair of tennis shoes, and we spent the afternoon customizing them with colorful beads, letters, and charms while sipping spritzes and hanging out together.

I’m sharing all the details below — how I set up the charm bar, our favorite tennis shoe phrases, food and drinks, and everything you need to recreate it with your own team!
How to Set Up a Tennis Shoe Charm Bar
The star of our tennis team party was obviously the Tennis Shoe Charm Bar! BaubleBar generously sent us their Shoelace Kits, which were perfect for this party. Each kit is packed with a mix of colorful beads, alphabet beads, statement letters, charms, and fun shoelaces, so there were tons of options for everyone to mix and match.
Since I knew our group would want to spell out lots of tennis phrases, names, and initials, I supplemented the kits with extra alphabet beads so we wouldn’t run out of popular letters. I also added tennis ball beads, which ended up being such a cute addition and gave the shoes the perfect tennis touch.
For the setup, I poured all of the beads and charms into small bowls and scattered them down the center of the table so everyone could easily reach and dig through them. I also created a little phrase inspiration sign with ideas like LOVE ALL, MATCH POINT, COURT QUEEN, LET’S RALLY, ACE, SERVE, and SLAY.
Everyone brought their own tennis shoes, and it was so fun seeing how completely different they all turned out. Some girls went all-in with colorful beads and phrases, while others kept theirs a little simpler with initials and a few charms. And now I love seeing everyone’s customized shoes out on the courts!
The Tennis Team Party Setup
Since the charm bar was the main event, I kept everything else pretty simple! I covered the table with a colorful pink and red striped tablecloth, added scalloped placemats at each seat, and tucked a few small arrangements of bright flowers between all of the bowls of beads and charms. The beads brought so much color to the table that it really didn’t need much else.
For drinks, I set up a little spritz bar with everything the girls needed to make their own cocktails, and kept the food easy with a few afternoon snacks — pita chips and dip, popcorn, fresh strawberries, and cookies. The girls also brought appetizers, treats, and snacks to share, which made it even easier on me as the host and gave us plenty to graze on throughout the afternoon.
Since the party was at 2 PM, there was no need to serve a full lunch. Everyone could grab a snack or make a spritz while they worked on their shoes, and the whole setup felt casual but still really festive.
This was such a fun tennis team party and one I’d absolutely do again! And while we gave ours a tennis spin, a Shoe Charm Party would be just as fun for volleyball, pickleball, basketball, soccer, cheer, or really any team. Just swap in your team colors and favorite phrases and make it your own!
