Matt is 39!

Matt turned 39 earlier this week! I cannot believe he is officially one year away from 40! To celebrate his birthday, we went to Peppervine for dinner, a new restaurant we’ve been anxious to try. We both agreed that this restaurant lived up to the hype (Food+Wine Magazine listed Peppervine as one of the most-anticipated spring restaurant openings in the country) and had an amazing experience. The ambiance was incredible and the food and cocktails were delicious. I highly recommend the Summer Cooler cocktail, a vodka drink with watermelon and basil — so good! For dinner we decided to split a bunch of small plates. Matt’s favorite was the pork belly kimchi porridge and my favorite plate was the pappardelle carbonara (with truffle cauliflower cream).

During dinner, I surprised Matt with a well decorated (thanks to Caroline) birthday card with his present — a golf club fitting. I honestly had no clue this was a thing, but when he mentioned wanting a fitting a few months ago I took note! Based on his response, I think this goes down as one of the best gifts I’ve ever given him.
