Five on Friday

Happy Friday from Philadelphia! I’ve been here the last few days for a work event and am SO ready to get on my plane and get home to my fam. Family movie night seriously cannot come soon enough! I swear any time I travel for work I miss something important or something goes down at our home — usually a sick kid. Well, this trip was no exception — I missed Caroline’s award ceremony at school…and…Matt had an emergency root canal yesterday! What a champ he was to tackle everything solo (during an exceptionally busy week at the office for him) while I was gone. Ergh. Mom guilt. Wife guilt. ALL.the.guilt. But we made it through the week!

In other announcements, I owe you all a ginormous THANK YOU for taking the time to respond to my Reader Survey. I cannot tell you enough how much that means to me. I read every comment and smiled. I am so lucky to have such an incredible community of readers. Also, I am taking note of all your feedback and promise to deliver!!

One last announcement, in response to the super popular request for moms to share easy meals with one another I have created what I hope to be a good system — a Fast Family Recipes Page! I’ve tried collecting recipes in the past via Instagram and it was just TOO hard to keep it organized and website links aren’t clickable. THIS NEW PAGE is for us to share our favorite family recipes with one another in hopes we can each discover new meal ideas from our community recipe bank!

Ok, okkkkk, I’ll get on with it!

1. Shrimp + Kielbasa + Cauliflower Rice Jambalaya {Whole30, Paleo}

For Soup Sunday last weekend I surprised Matt with a Whole30 compliant Jambalaya! This soup was packed with Creole seasoning, shrimp, kielbasa and loads of cauliflower rice. It was so so so good! We will absolutely be keeping this in our soup rotation!

2. New Eye Cream

Awhile ago I polled y’all on eye cream recommendations and you all had SO many good ones. I rounded them all up in this blog post and have been making my way through the products ever since. This week I swiped the very last drop our of my OLEHENRIKSEN Banana Bright Eye Crème! I loved this cream. It lasted me forever too so it was totally worth the price. Anyway, Matt surprised me with the Drunk Elephant C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream for Christmas so it’s next on deck!

3. Supper Club

Last week Cristina hosted our first Supper Club of the year! For dinner she served chicken tetrazzini, salad and roasted veggies. It was delicious and her set up was beautiful as always!

4. Long Pleated Fit & Flare Dress + Booties

I am loving this new dress. The quality is terrific and it comes in a rainbow of colors. Also, THESE BOOTIES are amazing. I have them in both colors (taupe and black) because when I fall in love with something I tend to buy it in every color and wear nonstop. Both items run true to size.

5. Girl Scouts

Caroline is officially a Daisy! She has been begging to join Girl Scouts since school started. Apparently she and all of her friends were even playing “Girl Scouts” on the playground, although it’s still unclear what that actually entailed. Anyway, it was incredibly difficult to find a troop with openings and when a brand new on opened a few weeks ago we were SO excited to finally join it! Some of our friends joined too.

So who wants to buy some cookies?!
