1. April Fools Pranks!

This morning I’m surprising the kids with glasses of “juice” with their breakfast and cannot wait to see their faces when they realize it’s jell-o! I’m also planning to pour Sprite into their water bottles for school which they definitely will not see coming.

2. After-School Snack Plates

I’ve received lots of messages on Instagram in response to my after-school snack plates! Y’all are loving them so I’ll keep them coming! These have been so much fun for me to create and the kids get wildly excited to see what I’ve whipped up each day. And our snack boards have really helped us cut down on the number of Doritos bags that are grabbed from the pantry after school each day too.

The kids voted this board as their favorite from last week. In perfect timing, I had made our Easter Snack Board earlier that day so I was able to re-purpose all of the items for a smaller after-school/happy hour version while we got ready for Family Movie Night.

Also, I need to give a disclaimer — I am clearly still very much running on a resignation high and I am incapable of sitting still, so right now that looks like a backlog of projects I’ve wanted to tackle and recipes I’ve had saved forever to make.

3. Book Review: Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey

Rating 5/5: Oh my goodness, I loved this memoir — and I think this may be my first 5 star book rating for 2022! We picked this book for Community Group this month (we like a wiiiiide variety of books) and I cannot wait to discuss it next week with the girls!

Matthew has lived the most interesting 50 years of life so far and I was absolutely fascinated by all his stories. I would hiiiiiighly recommend listening to the audio version. Matthew narrates it and he truly has a gift of storytelling.

Book Summary: From the Academy Award®–winning actor, an unconventional memoir filled with raucous stories, outlaw wisdom, and lessons learned the hard way about living with greater satisfaction.

I’ve been in this life for fifty years, been trying to work out its riddle for forty-two, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me.

4. Product Hack

In case you missed it, I shared this little hack on Instagram this week — cutting open your cosmetics/personal products/etc. to scrape out the very last drop once you think it’s empty. Once my foundation runs out, I always cut the tube open and can usually get 3-4 more applications out of it! I use a small concealer brush, but many of you said you use a q-tip or a BEAUTY SPATULA (Genius! And adding to cart now.).

Also, if you messaged me about what foundation I’m using, it’s the IT Cosmetics CC Cream. It is lightweight, hydrating and has SPF 50 sun protection! I’ve tried SO many foundations and will forever use this one. I wear color Light. And right now it’s 25% off (not sure for how long).

5. Product Refill: Native Deodorant

I switched to a natural deodorant a few years ago and have worked my way through all the top reader recommendations. Out of all of them, Native has been my favorite. There are several great scents but I just purchased the Lilac & White Tea and it smells AMAZING. I also really like the Coconut & Vanilla (their best-seller). You can also find these at Target or Walmart!

The resignation high is real! For the first month I was like “I have all the time in the world! What will I do with all this free time?” That quickly changed LOL.
