Five on Friday

Happy Friday!

I am still trying to get our life back together after an incredible few days in Snowshoe! We had an absolute blast. I cannot wait to write a full recap post once I finish tackling piles of laundry, restock our home with food — all the re-entry things.

On the last morning in Snowshoe, I told Matt when we woke up that I am just so grateful no one hurt themselves on the trip! And then moments later on his way to return our ski equipment, Matt slipped on some ice and on his way down somehow broke his toe and either sprained or tore something in the back of his calf where it meets his knee. So his re-entry has also included multiple doctor appointments. Fun times.

We’ve got a sports-filled long weekend ahead. Softball season kicked off this week for Caroline and she has her first practice tonight and another tomorrow morning. Then Matt and I will divide and conquer because both kids have basketball games at the same time on Saturday afternoon. Sunday we’ll go to church then lunch — and hopefully relax the rest of the afternoon. And the kids are out of school on Monday!

In Case You Missed It

A few things I shared this week…

This Week’s Top 5 Reader Favorites

  1. Spanx Booty Boost Leggings: Hands down, my favorite leggings to work out in. I prefer the 7/8 length to the full length. Their sculpting performance fabric is breathable, sweat-wicking and have a built-in booty lift. Worth every penny.
  2. Artificial Green Eucalyptus in Blown Glass Vase: Such a good price for this fun spring decor! Perfect for the bookcase, coffee table, kitchen island, and more.
  3. Powersoft Adjustable Sports Bra: Still in the top 5!!! I have not purchased or worn any other sports bra since discovering this one in 2021. It really is an incredible sports bra. It’s comfortable, has adjustable straps, is affordable (& currently on sale), provides great support and has SEWN IN CUPS. This bra really is the total package.
  4. Women’s Bandeau Top One Piece Swim Suit: A flattering and supportive swim suit that is affordable and available in 4 colors.
  5. Self Tanner Mousse: I love that it is made with clean ingredients, free of chemical dyes, parabens, and toxins. I just ran out of the lotion and bought the mousse to try and oh my gosh, I LOVE IT even more than the lotion! It’s lightweight and fast-absorbing making it easier and quicker to apply. I skip the mitt and use my hands so I don’t waste any of the product, and then just wash my hands after. I use medium-dark and it’s a great color to build on.

1. Snowshoe Skip Trip

Despite Matt’s last minute injury, we had such an incredible time in Snowshoe. The kids and I learned to ski and by day 2 they were flying past me down the mountain! I am so unbelievably proud of them. You can see them in action in this post!

2. A Few Target Finds

For the ladies!

A few of my favorites from this round-up include the high-rise wide leg linen pull-on pants (available in 7 colors and lots of sizes), the pretty multi-strand link chain for wearing with tanks and shorts all summer, and strappy sandals (available in 3 colors).

3. The Lace Lab Head Spa

For Christmas, Matt gifted me a Growth Enhancer Scalp Treatment from The Lace Lab and it was everything I had hoped it would be!! For me, my favorite part of any massage treatment is the scalp massage so getting a FULL hour head spa was absolutely magical.

The service began with a scalp analysis which was SO cool. From an iPad, I got to see my hair strands in 3D as well as the condition of my scalp. It was wild. Then I received a quick shampooing and on to a deep scalp massage and gua sha comb massage, customized mask, steam mist treatment, organic growth stimulating hair bath, conditioning treatment, and growth scalp treatment.

If you’re local, I highly recommend The Lace Lab. It would be the most perfect Mother’s Day gift too!

4. High Protein Snack

In case you missed my Instagram reel, I wanted to re-share the high protein yogurt snack I’ve been eating a lot lately as a post workout breakfast or afternoon snack. It’s also a great snack for packing in your lunchbox!

Mix together:

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (I like Oikos Triple Zero)
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I like Orgain)
  • 1 tbsp cashew or almond butter
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Serve with fresh apple slices or add some chocolate chips and eat as a dessert!

5. The Face Cream That Surprised Me In A Big Way

I recently stumbled upon this face cream while looking for a moisturizer I could apply in the mornings before I go to the gym. My skin needs hydration as soon as I wake up and it pains me to sweat off expensive skincare products so I did some research and found Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré.

It’s a 6-in-1 French skincare cream and the 26K+ glowing reviews sold me. I’ve been using it for about 2 months now and I honestly cannot believe how amazing it really is — especially for the price!!! I have found myself reaching for it more than any of my other products because it works so well. It’s super creamy but lightweight, smells clean, super hydrating and since it’s also a primer, you can apply your makeup right on top (and also use it at the end of the day as a makeup remover milk).

Good luck on the healing! Just a word of advice that podiatrists are not medical doctors. I'd try to seek out a foot & ankle orthopedic surgeon if possible. They have more specified training.
