Happy Friday! Caroline and I have a very exciting weekend ahead because WE ARE GOING TO FLORIDA!!! Sorry for screaming at you! But we are excited for our first mommy-daughter trip. It’s rare for Matt and I to split up with one kid each for more than a quick errand and I can’t wait for us to each get some solo time with a babe.
one. Babes in Babiators!!! Recently we’ve been successful in getting Thomas to wear a hat and + sunglasses and it is seriously the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. Back when he was patching he wanted nothing to do with another eye accessory, but now he likes wearing them. And we prefer for him to wear his sunglasses anytime we are outside playing in dirt, water, sand, etc. for extra eye protection. Contacts definitely do not mix well with tiny grains of sand or chlorine!!!!
We have a variety of sunglasses from the Target dollar aisle but our favorite pairs are Babiators. They are more durable and come in a ton of cute colors. Oh! AND! If you lose or break your sunglasses within a year of purchase they will send you a FREE replacement! They also make excellent goggles, which we purchased last year for summer. Highly recommend.
two. We are one light source brighter in our family room! We moved our sofa table lamp to the guest room and replaced it with TWO new lamps. I looooooooooooove how it looks now and we have a tad bit more light! Here is the new, brighter look…
AFTER! We still need to add a few more light sources but we’re making progress!
three. I’ve been using LipSense this past week and now see what all the hype is about. I love being able to drop my kids off at daycare and kiss them goodbye with my lipstick already on! I started with Pink Champagne since it’s a more neutral pink and it’s such a pretty shade — highly recommend! four. Last weekend we went on a double date with our friends, John & Lisa (apologies for anyone following on SnapChat). We started off in the courtyard at Dilworth Tasting Room with a bottle of the most delicious Chardonnay and lots of shared plates before heading down the street for a few cocktails at Tyber Creek and then finished with a few last drinks, wings & cheese fries at Sundries.
five. I had a few questions about my picnic backpack from our day date! My MIL surprised me with this backpack one holiday and I thought it was the most perfect gift! The pack she got me is sold out, but this is an amazing similar option (& holds a bottle of wine!). Side note: If you’re looking for a good laugh, you can check out this throwback post on our last picnic using our backpack — back when I was tan, wore headbands and pre-kids.
