Five on Friday

Happy Friday!

We have had a great week. I hope you have too!

The kids had field day at school, Matt was awarded Charlotte Business Journal’s Most Admired CEO, Carolina Charm celebrated 13 YEARS, Matt and I had a fun double date with our good friends at Limani, and I got to meet my friend’s new baby!

I’ve also been working on Caroline’s birthday party which is next weekend. She wanted to have her friends over for a pool party and it’s going to be so fun! She planned her entire birthday party in a shared note on the iPad and oh my gosh, it is adorable (and SO well organized). She included her guest list, food and drink ideas, a supplies shopping list for the craft the girls are doing, cake ideas, and more. And I’ve got a few surprises up my sleeve for her too that she is absolutely going to love.

MY $35 WEDGES + DRESS (I RENTED THROUGH NUULY)

Alright, let’s get down to it!

In Case You Missed It

A few things I shared this week…

This Week’s Top 5 Reader Favorites

  1. Dryer Vent Cleaner Kit: If dryer fires keep you up at night, I wanted to recommend this super affordable cleaning kit that removes build up in your dryer vent. It has a long flexible hose that allows for deep access to hard to reach areas with trapped lint. You can also use it to clean the coils behind your fridge.
  2. The BEST Undies are still the top seller this week! For more than a decade, I only wore Hanky Panky underwear. And then I discovered the Almost Bare line from Soma and oh my gosh they are the most comfortable EVER. No lines. Lightweight. Breathable fabric. Stay in place. I’ve written blog posts about them and put them on gift guides. They are truly incredible.
  3. The Most Fun Amazon Dress: See #5!
  4. Cloud Water: See #4!
  5. Simple Times Mixers: These all-natural handcrafted cocktail mixers are GREAT to have on hand when you want to throw a cocktail together quickly — just add alcohol. All of the flavors we’ve tried so far are delicious. They don’t have any artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners, preservatives, or concentrates! The shelf life is 9 months from the bottled date (and 4 weeks in the fridge once opened), so I’m keeping these in my fridge for when we host friends/neighbors last minute and I don’t have time to juice limes/lemons, etc.
Simple Times Mixers

1. Supper Club

Last week Cristina hosted our March Supper Club! She served the most delicious spread from Kid Cashew for dinner — and a huge assortment of snacks, treats, and candy for dessert while we played mahjong! It was a really fun night together.

2. Vegamour Hair Products

I recently received some Vegamour products to try out. This vegan brand has been an Instagram ad for me forever so I was excited to take the hair quiz to identify specific products that would work best to target my hair concerns.

The GRO+ Advanced Essentials Kit was recommended for me as it treats moderate to severe hair loss and I also added a few products from the Hydr-8 collection too for extra moisture (note — the Deep Moisture Repair Mask leaves my hair incredibly smooth and silky!!!). All of the products have worked really well for me and not only have I noticed a decrease in my hair shedding, I’ve also been able to restore some shine and moisture to my strands too!

3. Game Day Snack

Last weekend it was our turn again to bring the game day snacks for Caroline’s softball team. We wanted to try something new and grabbed some PB&J Snack Sticks and mandarin oranges from Trader Joe’s, and some bottles of Gatorade. Caroline packaged the snacks up and they looked so cute!

If you’re looking for a new snack idea, these were a hit!

4. Cloud Water

Matt and I have been addicted to these delicious vitamin waters lately! We’ve tried all the flavors, but the blood orange and coconut is our favorite! I haven’t seen them anywhere yet but Amazon so that’s where we’ve been buying them. They aren’t cheap so we reward ourselves with these on nights we aren’t drinking — and it’s honestly pretty motivating to skip the cocktail because these are SO good! These are packed with immune system boosting vitamins like vitamin D3 and zinc!

5. Fun Amazon Dress

This gorgeous dress just arrived from Amazon and I love it so much!! It is fun, lightweight, has pockets, adjustable straps, and is available in TONS of other prints too. It’s technically a midi dress, but the perfect maxi dress length for my short friends! It is not lined, but the material is thick enough that it isn’t see-through. And it’s under $20!! I am going to be wearing this all spring and summer long!

Those Simple Mixers and a bottle of Tequila would make a great gift for my daughter’s 21st birthday in July! Thanks for the idea. 🎈🥳
