Let’s actually rewind back to Thursday. Caroline’s teacher followed us home from school to watch the kiddos so Matt and I could sneak away for a few baseball innings. Matt is the sub-committee Chair for the Family Law Section of the Mecklenburg County Bar which hosted a fun social event at the game. We had a great time!
After the kiddos went to bed Matt and I had another at home date night. We grilled Jamaican jerk pork chops and sat on the back deck late into the night sipping cocktails, enjoying music, snacking on cheesecake and playing Bananagrams!
Saturday morning Caroline insisted on making her own breakfast. We raced Charlie up to the vet for a nasty hot spot infection. Oh, and Thomas lost a contact (that we later found in his car seat!!!!!)!
Saturday afternoon we attended a pool party for Caroline’s best gal pal/classmate/neighbor!
Caroline totally tricked mommy and daddy into each giving her a cupcake.
Back to the porch we went after the kiddos were in bed to eat dinner and play Skip-Bo.
Sunday morning we took Elmo and the kiddos out for bagels, ran all our usual errands, played outside and attended another one of Caroline’s friend’s birthday celebration!
And that was a wrap on the weekend!
You always have the best weekends!!!
Omg I love how Caroline "made breakfast"! Your kiddos are the cutest!
such a great weekend! and yes our daughter is notorious for getting extra cupcakes and cookies. Went to her "boyfriends"birthday a few weeks ago and she got two pieces of cake!liz @ j for joiner
Love the back porch date nights! We just need Atlanta to cool down a bit and then it will be perfect porch weather!
Looks like a fun weekend. Love how you are able to balance family time with husband/wife time. You always seem to get a great mix of both!
I love that you two have special date nights when the kids are asleep- we need to do this more often x
You guys are totally inspiring us to have at-home date nights with drinks and games we love after our little one is out! Thanks for sharing these!
Sounds like a fun weekend – we love Skip Bo too!
Gosh Caroline has gotten so tall! Looks like another fun weekend!
We don't have any kiddos yet, but y'all are total date night pros and I am so inspired to follow in your footsteps!
Love the weekend rewind! Do y'all have to be extra quiet for your home date nights? We have to tip-toe to keep the little one asleep after we put him down, so we usually just go to bed, too lol. Any tips for babes to sleep through noise, etc?
It sounds like it was a fun & happy weekend! :)Amy @ http://befilledwithj0y.blogspot.com/
I love Caroline's hair (or lack thereof). I was bald until I was almost three and now have the THICKEST hair ever! My mom used to scotch tape bows into my hair. (It was a long time ago!) My granddaughter is 16 months and still pretty bald. She won't let us put bows on her, though so we have to dress her as girly as possible. Anyways, I hope you're still blogging when Caroline has a head full because I'm sure she'll end up with more hair than she knows what to do with!
