Easter Weekend 2024

We had a wonderful Easter weekend!

Good Friday

Spring Break kicked off on Friday and Matt’s office was closed so everyone was home!

It was the most beautiful day so the kids played outside most of the day with friends, Caroline and I ran some errands and got our nails done, and we started getting packed up for our beach trip. We finished the day hanging out with neighbors, homemade pizzas for dinner and a sleepover.

Saturday

Saturday was another beautiful (and productive) day! Matt tackled some house projects and pressure washed the pool deck while I prepped sourdough bread, did a ton of laundry, decorated our dining table for our Easter dinner with azaleas straight from the yard, and we got a little more packing done.

I knew Sunday was going to be busy so I decided to make our Easter dinner on Saturday night so we didn’t feel rushed. I made my favorite baked steaks (they were phenomenal), Bob Evans mashed potatoes, and roasted green beans. Everyone LOVED dinner.

And once the kids were in bed, the Easter bunnies got to work!

Sunday

Sunday morning the kids were up bright and early to see if the Easter bunny had come! Caroline no longer believes but is great at keeping the magic alive for Thomas. They were so excited to come downstairs and find their Easter baskets and Easter eggs scattered around the house! This year Thomas’s golden egg had a v-bucks gift card and Caroline’s had a Starbucks gift card — big hits! And Mabel got some fun things too.

After all the eggs were found and the kids ate all their candy for breakfast, we got dressed in our Easter best and headed to Winston for Easter brunch with Matt’s parents which was SO GOOD. We also brought Mabel so she could spend the week with Mimi and Grandad getting spoiled while we are at the beach!

Sunday night I baked my sourdough loafs and they turned out great! They still aren’t quite perfect, but these were the best ones I’ve made yet! I froze one loaf and then used the other for breakfast and lunch sandwiches for our road trip!

And then we all crashed into bed so we could get up early and hit the road!

And that was a wrap on Easter!
