Five on Friday!

Today is my last day of work for awhile and I am so ready for.the.weekend. But then I remember that following this weekend is my procedure and I start freaking out about all of the things I still need to do before I'm out of commission for six weeks. You know, things like...
1. Purchase button up shirts and pajamas for recovery.
2. Purchase a million pillows to keep me propped up since I have to sleep sitting up for a couple months (fun).
3. Clean my car so the moms won't be disgusted by the amount of crushed graham crackers, toys and trash scattered everywhere as they drive the kids around for a few weeks. One of my girlfriends surprised me with an Autobell gift card so I'm so excited to not have to vacuum it out myself!! Yay!
4. Get a pedicure (another surprise gift)! This seems silly BUT I won't be able to do my hair or makeup for a long time so having my toes done may help me feel like a decent human.
5. Fill my Netflix que.
AND....
Say goodbye to the tatas! Which really, this is just an excuse for a much needed surgery distraction by gathering our closest friends together for a big playdate, drinks, cornhole, marshmallow roasting and cake.

two. Caroline has been loving her new collection of Halloween and fall bows from Julia's Bowtique (our favorite place for bows)!
three. I'm loving that my crockpot has been cooking dinner for us all week. We've enjoyed our favorite Crockpot Balsalmic Glazed Pork Tenderloin and also Baked Potato Soup.
four. Gone are the days of standing on cold bathroom tile while I brush my teeth! Natural Area Rugs sent us the gorgeous (and ridiculously soft!!!) Amelia Shag rug for our master bathroom so now I smile every time I step out of the shower!
PS - My counter top never looks like this in real life! I wish it did though.

five. I can't wait to soak up my babies as much as possible this weekend. Pretty sure I am going to carry and cuddle them all weekend long. It's going to take months until I'm strong enough to lift over 10 pounds again so I'm going to embrace these last few days of "up, peez!"
We had our Christmas shoot last weekend with Allison and I love this candid shot she took while Caroline was yelling for the duck-ducks! Oh, and I would be remiss not to mention how awesome of a job LRT did on my hair and makeup! Many more pics to come from this day!

  2. I love those Christmas pictures! You always have the most adorable family photo sessions and are done up how I always hope I can be! I am so glad you are having a celebration. When my Mother-In-Law was going through breast cancer, she too had a party where all her friends shaved her hair! Her thought was cancer was ruling her live in so many aspects, that it was not going to be in charge of when she lost her hair, she was! I've continued to keep you in my prayers. You are so brave...Lots of love being sent your way-enjoy your weekend with your babes!
