If you’ve seen my recent cocktail reel, you know exactly why my DMs are full right now. Everyone is asking about the powder I used, the stencil, and the cocktail recipe itself, so I wanted to get everything in one place. This is such an easy way to elevate a drink for parties, holidays, or girls’ nights, and once you try it, you’ll want to do it for every cocktail.

What You Need for a Stenciled Cocktail Powder Lip
- Lip Cocktail Stencil: The exact one from my reel is currently unavailable, but I love this one because it’s reusable and works on multiple glass sizes.
- Edible Cocktail Powder: The first time I made this, I used red radish powder, and it smelled weird and did not taste great. While you can use edible luster dust, strawberry powder, or beet root powder. See variation below!
- Fine Mesh Strainer: To keep the design clean and crisp
- Cocktail Glass: I used these coupe glasses, and they worked perfect, but you can use any coupe or rocks glass that is wide enough to fit your stencil.

Lip Stenciled Cocktail Variations
I think it would be SO fun to do a powdered heart espresso martini version!! I’d recommend using cocoa powder or ground cinnamon and using a heart stencil.

Cocktail Recipes
You can use your favorite red or pink cocktail recipe, but the key is to have a froth on top so you can create the stencil.
Pink Velvet Martini Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 oz vodka
- 2 oz pomegranate juice
- 3/4 oz fresh lime juice
- 3/4 oz simple syrup
- 1 oz egg white (The egg white is key here. It creates the frothy surface so the powder design sticks cleanly to the top of the drink.)
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a shaker without ice and dry shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds to build the froth.
- Add ice and shake again until well chilled.
- Strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass.
- Place your stencil over the rim and lightly dust with edible powder.
- Serve immediately.
Pomegranate Kiss Martini
Ingredients
- 2 oz blanco tequila
- 2 oz pomegranate juice
- ¾ oz fresh lime juice
- ½ oz agave syrup (adjust to taste)
- 1 oz egg white (The egg white is key here. It creates the frothy surface so the powder design sticks cleanly to the top of the drink.)
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a shaker without ice and dry shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds to build the froth.
- Add ice and shake again until well chilled.
- Strain into a chilled coupe or martini glass.
- Place your stencil over the rim and lightly dust with edible powder.
- Serve immediately.
Tips for Getting the Perfect Frothy Top
- Always dry shake first. This activates the egg white and creates foam.
- Shake longer than you think. Froth loves energy.
- Use a chilled glass so the foam holds longer.
- Lightly dust the powder. Too much will blur the stencil.

This is one of my favorite ways to dress up a cocktail for entertaining. I’ve linked everything I use above so you can recreate it easily at home. Bookmark this for parties, holidays, or anytime you want a drink that looks way fancier than it actually is.
