Our Masters Party

Last weekend we had friends over for a Masters party to watch the golf tournament together, eat delicious food and sip festive cocktails.

The Masters is an invitational event and the first major golf tournament of the year so there is always so much excitement around it. It also has a number of traditions that make it fun, most notably the distinctive green jacket!

A few snippets from our Masters Sunday…

Masters Party Decor

Y’all know how much Matt and I love a party theme, but we especially love a golf theme! In fact, I think this is the theme I have the most supplies already on hand for so it was super easy to throw together.

All I did was roll our turf runner across our kitchen island, added lots of yellow tulips, and sprinkled in a few golf balls and golf tees.

Masters Party Food

I served a few appetizers along with the traditional Masters foods which largely consists of an assortment of mini sandwiches — pimento cheese sandwiches, egg salad sandwiches, and chicken salad sandwiches. I chose not to make those sandwiches from scratch and instead bought containers of each salad from the grocery store to keep things super easy. All I had to do was assemble and slice the sandwiches into little squares.

But I did make the famous Green Jacket Salad! And it was SO good!

In between cannon balls into the pool, the kids grazed on hot dogs, potato chips, and fruit. Oh, and they thought the baskets with yellow checkered paper were so fun!

See? Super easy!

Masters Party Signature Azalea Cocktail

We had to kick off the night with The Masters signature Azalea cocktail! These were SO good!!! And they were easy to prep ahead of time too! I mixed each cocktail up in a glass, and when we were ready to serve, I gave each a good stir then topped with lots of ice.

The Azalea

  • 2 oz. vodka
  • 2 oz. pineapple juice
  • 1 oz. fresh lemon juice
  • 1 splash grenadine
  • Lemon slice and cherry to garnish

Once our friends arrived, I rarely picked up my phone so I didn’t snap very many party pics! The night went so fast and was filled with lots of golf, games, pool time, and more. We blinked and it was way past all of our bedtimes.

I did however get a pic of me and Kristin in our golf attire and a hilarious pic of what was left of her birthday cookie cake that the kids thought they were sneakily nibbling at until it was time to serve it.

It was a great Sunday Funday and we were all so happy to see Scottie Scheffler win!
