It’s been a few years since I shared our Amazon Pool Bag Favorite Items and thought I’d update this post after a few of my readers submitted this request for July content!
You’ll notice some of the items have stayed the same, but I’ve added lots of new finds too that we’ve discovered over the past 2 years and love to bring with us to the pool.
Let’s dive right in, shall we?
1. BOGG Bag
We’ve been using the XL waterproof bag for a few years now and LOVE it. This rubber bag is easy to rinse clean and is big enough to fit ALL our things. It comes in a bunch of colors too.
2. Zippered Vinyl Bags
These waterproof vinyl bags are great for organizing and storing goggles, sunscreen sticks, dive toys, etc. They come in a pack of 4 and are available in several other sizes — all the way up to XL. I prefer these vinyl bags over mesh bags for sunscreen spills! They are super easy to wipe out and clean.
3. Sun Bum SPF Lip Balm
A great lip protection, this UVA/UVB SPF 30 balm comes in a variety pack of 3 for a great price and contains aloe and vitamin E for moisturized lips.
4. Supergoop! Glow Stick
This dry-oil stick offers glow-boosting hydration and invisible SPF 50 protection. It rolls on SO smooth and leaves a dewy finish without an oily residue. I purchase one stick each summer and it lasts us all season. I use it on the kids too and they love that it doesn’t leave a white film on their skin. Highly recommend!!
5. Supergoop! Play Sunscreen
Each summer I buy the 18 oz pump bottle for the pool bag and it usually lasts us all summer! This sunscreen is lightweight, and offers high performance protection from UVA, UVB, and IRA rays with SPF 50. It’s great for sensitive skin and is water and sweat resistant.
6. Reusable Splash bombs
Our kids are currently obsessed with these reusable water bombs! These environmentally-friendly water splash balls are seriously so cool and are the perfect outdoor activity for summer — fun for the pool, outside water fights, or in the tub.
7. The Best Goggles
Hands down the best goggles. We’ve been purchasing them for several years now and swear by them. They fit well, don’t leak or fog up and unclip in the back so you don’t have to rip out your hair while taking them off your head!
8. Towel Clips
I’ve been using these for years! They are so great for keeping your towel in place on your chair so it’s not constantly sliding around.
9. Magnetic Hat Holder
This little tool is AMAZING for holding your hat — especially when your hands are full lugging multiple bags/coolers/etc. down to the pool. If your bag material is too thick, you can just attach the clip around the bag strap and that works really well too.
10. Waterproof Football
This has been such a great football for the pool! It features a special grip pattern for optimized throw & catch, and is double-laced for perfect spiral throw! Just look at the Amazon reviews!!
11. Mosquito Repellent Patches
One of my very best purchases from last summer, I always have these in my pool bag to combat mosquitos. These are also great for traveling with if you’re visiting a resort pool where there is usually lots of tropical foliage around the pool deck! You can stick these citronella patches anywhere. I usually attach them to my chair, pool bag, etc. (not on swim suits). They are made using all-natural plant-based ingredients, and are 100% DEET-free.
12. Swim Ear
These Swim Ear drops came highly recommended to us after both kids got swimmers ear a few summers ago and we’ve been using it ever since! This solution is highly effective at clearing water trapped in ears.
13. Acrylic Diving Gems
This 16-piece dive gem set has been SO fun for the pool.
14. Mermaid Fin
Caroline never leaves this fin behind when we head to the pool. This fin allows you to easily propel and glide through the water — just like a Mermaid. It also features quick adjusting straps with easy-out pull loops with rubberized fin edges for safety. Available in 8 colors.
15. Pool Float Hammock
This is MY pool float!! It really is the best float we’ve ever purchased and we’re going on 3 seasons with it. I like that it can be deflated and is easy to store or travel with! It comes in 15 colors has almost 43,000+ reviews on Amazon and is inexpensive!

We just got back from HHI where our hosts had a pool in their backyard. One of the teens traveling with us has some special needs and doesn’t like to be in the pool. However, she is obsessed with The Little Mermaid and once she saw the diving gems, we could not get her out. She dove for those things for hours. It was the sweetest thing ever and her family was amazed!
