Five on Friday

It’s Good Friday!

As we enter into the weekend I am filled with gratitude and am reminded to slow down and savor the blessings all around me while the kids tear through their Easter baskets, eat chocolate for breakfast, hunt down eggs, get dressed in our Sunday best, and feast with family.

Today also kicks off Spring Break! So in addition to stuffing baskets and eggs, Matt and I are also getting our family ready for a few days at the beach — stocking up on snacks, grabbing sunscreen, taking Mabel to her grandparents house and more. I am very much looking forward to spending time with my family in the sunshine and a break from sports practices, evening activities, and laundry.

Alright, let’s get down to it…

In Case You Missed It

A few things I shared this week…

A huge THANK YOU!

This week I was super excited to share two partnerships with you.

I am very picky when it comes to brand partnerships and I only accept the ones that are truly a fit for me and that I think my readers will find valuable too. That being said, it has been so fun (and unusual) for me to not only have two partnerships at one time, but to also post them in the same week!

I cannot tell you how grateful I am for these two opportunities (one of which you’ll see more of throughout the year) and for your engagement on the posts! I seriously love the reel of Mabel SO much and think it’s so stinking cute. I have watched it a million times just to see that little tail wag.

Anyway, I know it sounds silly to ask for support on these posts, but engagement is what brands look at when considering a collaboration and for measuring ROI, and while it only takes a second to like/comment/share, it truly means the world to me! You can see my cute Mabel sponsorship HERE!

THANK YOU.

1. Email Filter Hack

If you missed it in my stories yesterday, I shared a hack for cleaning up and filtering your inbox a bit. This tip is best for emails you still want to receive but don’t necessarily need in your primary inbox — and this tutorial is specifically for gmail users.

For this example, I’m using Amazon since it’s where we purchase many items from, but you can use this on any re-occurring email — especially the ones that are difficult to unsubscribe to.

For each Amazon purchase, I know I’m going to receive at least 3 emails (order confirmation, shipping notification, delivery confirmation, etc.)…none of which I usually need. Here’s how I create a filter for EACH of those types of emails.

How to Filter Emails

  1. Create a folder in your inbox for where you want these emails to live. My folder is labeled “Order Receipts & Confirmations — Amazon.”
  2. Open the email you want to create a filter for when it comes to your inbox. Click on the 3 vertical dots in the upper right hand corner and select “Filter messages like this,” then click “create filter.”
    • Example: The email I want to fille is from “[email protected]” so I create my filter for that email address specifically.
  3. Filter settings: this is where you can decide what happens to the email when it arrives. Do you want the email to be marked read or unread, marked as important, auto-forward to someone or a secondary email, etc. If you want it to go into the folder you’ve created, make sure to check the box “Apply the label” and choose the appropriate folder. Click “create filter.”
  4. Boom. Done. Those emails will now automatically follow the new rule you’ve created.

Note: For Amazon specifically, I had to create 3 filters ([email protected][email protected], and [email protected]). I file the confirmation emails in a folder and have the others automatically deleted since I can always easily look those up in my account.

While this takes about 30 seconds to create, it will save you SO much more time in the long run!

2. The Siesta Cocktail

If you love tequila, you should try this twist on a margarita. It’s SO good.

The Siesta

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, shake the ingredients below. Serve up or over ice. Garnish with a fresh or dehydrated lime.

  • 1.75 oz tequila
  • .25 oz compari
  • .5 oz grapefruit juice

  • .75 oz simple syrup

3. Walmart Finds

A few fun and affordable Walmart finds I shared earlier this week on IG!

Ribbed Swimsuit & Platform Slides

This beautiful ribbed one piece is fully stocked right now! It has molded cups, cheeky coverage, removable halter straps, and boning at sides. And the platform slides have a memory foam footbed and are perfect for the pool! And y’all know I can’t stop wearing the $6 bangle set!

Cute & Affordable Athletic Outfit

The skort has moisture-wicking fabric, inner shorts, side phone pocket, and ball pocket. It’s the perfect length (16”) too. Runs TTS (wearing small). Also available in navy!

The sports bra offers full coverage, medium support, and has the cutest colorful band that matches the skort. Runs TTS (wearing size small). Also available in navy!

The platform sneakers are great for pairing with skirts, shorts, or jeans! They have a pop of color on the back too.

Saved my favorite for last — the hoodie!!!! So soft, lightweight and perfect for summer. Runs small, size up. Available in 4 pretty colors. Really really love this!!

4. Chicken Caesar Wraps

I wanted to re-share one of our favorite simple dinners for late game nights. You can only eat so much Chick-fil-A and finding a meal that can be thrown together in 15 minutes as soon as you get home can be hard. By the time the kids are showered up, you can have this delicious dinner on the table, and it’s one my kids LOVE.

All you need is a Caesar salad kit, some wraps, and frozen chicken nuggets. Mix up your salad (we really like the twisted Caesar salad, air fry your nuggets, then wrap it all up in a tortilla (I use flour for the kids and a gluten-free wrap for me and Matt).

If you make it, please tell me or tag me! And if you have another recipe that can be made in 15 minutes, tell me that too!

5. Product Refill: Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré

I squeezed out every last drop of this skincare cream before refilling it this week! This product is definitely one of my top finds of 2024 and was also the reader best-seller for February!

It’s a 6-in-1 French skincare cream and the 26K+ glowing reviews sold me. I’ve been using it for about 2 months now and I honestly cannot believe how amazing it really is — especially for the price!!! I have found myself reaching for it more than any of my other products because it works so well. It’s super creamy but lightweight, smells clean, super hydrating and since it’s also a primer, you can apply your makeup right on top (and also use it at the end of the day as a makeup remover milk).

An idea for a 15 minute meals, v similar to the Caesar wraps. Marinate rotisserie chicken in bbq sauce. Slice some tomatoes and cucumbers and open a can of corn. Throw in some cheddar. Serve over lettuce as a salad, throw in a wrap or put just the chicken and cheese on hawaiian rolls and make them sliders.
