Five on Friday

Happy Friday!

It’s been a great week!

Let’s start with the most divisive topic of the week—people who put their empty egg shells back in the carton. Y’all, this poll on Instagram blew up. The comments were passionate, the DMs were unhinged, and I was truly not prepared for these responses.

Team “Toss Immediately” was perplexed (and mildly horrified) that anyone would put a drippy shell back in the carton. Meanwhile, Team “Save for Later” had reasons—avoiding egg drips across the kitchen, composting, using them as plant fertilizer, you name it.

No matter where you stand, I respect your commitment to your side. And honestly? This was way too much fun.

What You May Have Missed This Week

This week I shared…

  • Mahjong Table Must-Haves – A few simple touches that level up the table and the night! If you love a good mahj night, don’t miss this (plus, check out my reel to see how I set everything up for mahj night!).
  • Two Ingredient Slow Cooker Jamaican Jerk Pork – A go-to recipe since 2017, and for good reason. It’s ridiculously easy and packed with flavor. I made it for meal prep lunches this week, and it did not disappoint!
  • Meal Train Ideas (25 Drop-Off Meals To Bring Someone in Need) – My #1 most-read post right now! If you’re ever wondering what to bring a friend who just had a baby, is recovering, or just needs a little extra love, this list is full of tried-and-true ideas.

Your Top 5 Favorite Items This Week

  1. Love and Luck Heart Necklace: This beautiful necklace was a Supper Club gift exchange win, and I’ve been wearing it nonstop ever since. It’s the perfect everyday piece and layers beautifully with other jewelry. Bonus—it’s currently more than half off!
  2. The cutest sneakers! See #2 for all the details, but trust me—you need these.
  3. Diva Auto Air Freshener: The ultimate Mahj Night prize! I knew this would be the first to get snagged, and for good reason. This scent is elite, and we’ve been buying these on repeat for our cars for years.
  4. Dad’s Ice Cream Shovel: When I shared Matt’s ice cream spoon on Instagram last weekend, y’all went nuts over it! It’s the perfect gift for the ice cream-obsessed dad.
  5. Moisturizing Fuzzy Sleep Socks: My heels get SO dry during the winter months and these moisturizing sleep socks are seriously that best. Not only do these work, they are super cozy too! The inner gel lining contains Vitamin E, Olive oil, and jojoba seed oil to hydrate cracked heels. And the breathable toeless design allows me to sleep in them without getting hot.

1. Paloma Aperol Spritz

Last weekend, I whipped up this Paloma Aperol Spritz—and it turned out so good. But fair warning: you have to like Aperol to like this cocktail! It’s like a Paloma and an Aperol Spritz had a baby, and the result is light, citrusy, and so refreshing. Perfect for warm weather, brunch, or honestly just because.

  • 1.5 oz tequila
  • 1.5 oz grapefruit soda
  • 1 oz Aperol (adjust to taste—more for a bitter kick, less for a mellow sip!)
  • .5 oz fresh-squeezed lime juice
  • Top with prosecco, brut, or champagne

Serve up or over ice, garnish with a grapefruit or lime slice, and enjoy! If you love Aperol, this is a must-try!

2. Cute & Comfy Sneakers

These are my favorite colorful sneakers in my closet right now—and guess what? They’re on sale again! I shared them last summer, and now I’m even more excited because they come in a ton of fun colors and are insanely comfortable. I logged 6K steps in them while running around the mall this week, and no complaints! If you’re looking for a fresh, casual shoe for spring that runs true to size, these are the ones to grab!

3. Quick Stitch Gun

This next item is a total lifesaver—the Stitchy Gun! The daddy-daughter dance is this weekend and Caroline and Matt are so excited! Caroline spent forever hunting online for the perfect hot pink dress, and when she finally found one she loved, it was just too long. I wasn’t sure what to do—until I remembered my trusty Stitchy Gun. I had her wear the dress, and with fewer than 10 clicks as she slowly turned, I stitched it to perfection. You can also find a less expensive version on Amazon for about half the price too.

4. Lunch Meal Prep: Jamaican Jerk Pork Bowls

As promised, here’s the update on the Jamaican Jerk Pork Bowls I prepped on Sunday for me and Matt—and wow, they were a WIN. First, let’s talk about the mango and avocado salsa because I was sure it was going to get weird by midweek. But nope! It held up beautifully, and we even reheated the bowls with the salsa mixed in (instead of keeping it separate), and it tasted SO good.

I also packed a little side of extra sauce for drizzling, but honestly? These bowls were just as good without it. Safe to say this 2017 throwback recipe is officially meal prep-approved. Highly recommend!

5. Moxi + BBL at Skin Pharm

This week, I had my second Moxi + BBL treatment at Skin Pharm, and I have to say—this combo is straight-up magic for sun-damaged skin. I’ve tried a lot of skin treatments over the years, but this one is by far my favorite. It delivers way more impact than microneedling without the downtime!

I get my face, neck, and chest treated, and while I leave the appointment a little red, by the next morning, it’s completely gone. For a few days, my skin feels a little coarse, but once that layer sheds, my complexion is noticeably brighter, smoother, and so glowy. And let me tell you—the compliments I’ve gotten since starting this treatment are next-level. As someone who has struggled with bad skin for most of my life, having people ask me what I’m doing for my skin is honestly the best feeling ever.

If you’ve been thinking about booking a treatment, this one is so worth it. If you have a Skin Pharm near you, use code CHRISTINA-322793 at checkout for $50 off your first visit! And if you’re in Charlotte, book with Erica—she’s insanely good at what she does and makes the appointment so fun!

UPDATE: Since sharing on Instagram, I’ve had a ton of DMs asking for updates and questions! A few of the most common questions received:

Q: Does this treatment hurt?

The Moxi + BBL treatment is totally tolerable! Moxi feels like a warm, prickly sensation (like tiny rubber band snaps), but a numbing cream makes it much more comfortable. I will say, it gets a little spicy around the eyes! BBL is even easier—just quick flashes of warmth. Any discomfort is super short-lived, and there’s no real downtime—just a few days of slightly rough skin as it works its magic!

Q: How long do the results last?

From what I understand, Moxi + BBL results are long-lasting, especially when paired with good skincare and strict sun protection. Since my main goal is reversing sun damage, I saw noticeable improvements in skin tone, texture, and brightness even after my first session. But if I’m not diligent about sunscreen, that damage can creep back. While some benefits are immediate, the real magic happens over time as collagen production kicks in. Most people do a series of treatments followed by yearly touch-ups to maintain that glow and keep sun damage at bay!

Q: Do you peel after this treatment?

Not exactly! Moxi + BBL isn’t a traditional peel, but after treatment, your skin will feel rough and develop a “sandpaper” texture as the treated skin cells slough off. This typically lasts a few days, and you might notice tiny dark spots (aka “mends”) that fade as your skin renews. There’s no actual peeling, just a gradual exfoliation process that reveals brighter, smoother skin underneath!

Q: Will this treatment remove freckles?

Moxi + BBL can significantly lighten freckles, but it won’t always remove them completely. The BBL targets pigment, so I saw my freckles darken initially before fading over about a week. A LOT of my chest freckles disappeared entirely (which was wild to me — and I felt very pale at first!).
