Five on Friday!

Cross your fingers for us this morning — we’re wrangling our toddlers onto an airplane and heading to Florida! I am so so so so so excited to meet my littleist love, see my daddy and hang with the fam for a few days.

one. I spent a few days in Atlanta this week for work which I didn’t mind one bit because I got a night out with my bestie Brynn at Barcelona Wine Room. We shared tons of small plates and had the very best time catching up since I last saw her. Isn’t she the prettiest?!

two. On our grocery run during mama spring break we picked up a few pints of Halo Top. I was clearly the last one to the party (per usual!) because everyone raved about this ice cream all weekend and it definitely lived up to the hype! My friend Laura mixes half of this ice cream with half of her favorite Ben & Jerry’s ice cream so she cuts the calories but not the quantity of her dessert — brilliant, right?!

New romper + wedges from my favorite boutique, Petal! It’s not available online (yet!) but it is available in-store ($58), and they will ship it (my sister does this all the time)!

three. Last night, when we should have been packing for Florida, Matt and I decided to dip out for a quick date night at Foxcroft Wine. We shared my new favorite Sauvignon Blanc (Cloudy Bay!!!) that my friend Abby introduced me to on vacation and a large bowl of truffle fries, sliders and award-winning brussels sprouts! Then we polished off our wine with some homemade donuts. So you can find me hiding behind a beach towel in my bikini this weekend — but it was totally worth it.

four. I recently re-read a hilarious article,12 Jim Gaffigan Quotes & Jokes: Everything You Need To Know About Family & Parenting, and had to share it for those of you looking for a good laugh. I am a huge Jim Gaffigan fan. If you love the article, you should absolutely check out his book, Dad is Fat.

five. Okay friends, help a mama out — neuLASH or R&F Lash Boost? One of my girlfriends recently used Lash Boost and her lashes are ahhhhh-maaaazing but I’ve heard great things about neuLASH too and it’s a little less expensive. Give me some feedback!!

Forget the fakes, call the plastic surgeon who did your mastectomy and get a prescription for Latisse. You can download a coupon and get it from Walmart for about $45, just search "latisse" on and you'll get a link straight to the coupon. I was getting extensions and then asked my friend where she gets hers done because my girl took forever. She told me she used Latisse. It took two months, but my eyelashes look like they did with extensions without the hassle and continued time and money spend. Don't use the latisse brushes, they absorb 90% of the product, just put one drop into the top of the bottle and use an eyeliner brush to paint it on like eyeliner.

Hi Christina! Both of these products have a synthetic version of the pro-inflammatory chemical found in Latisse. In an undocumented percentage of users it causes redness, watering, and potentially permanent dry eye. My advice is listen to your body; if you experience any irritation or eye discomfort, stop using it immediately!

I would recommend that you read the ingredients on both to make your decision - run them through as well :)

Five on Friday!

Oh hey! Look who got her act together for Five on Friday this week!!

one. These two. They kill me. So dang hilarious together.

two. I am so bad about cleaning my rings. I usually wait until a significant amount of random food and lotion particles have collected in the crevices before I do something about it. Over the weekend I used my mom’s tried and true ring cleaning tick to get my sparkle back — AMMONIA! In a tiny jar (far, far out of reach from the little ones who can usually be found climbing my counter tops), I pour a little bit of ammonia, a splash of water and then toss my rings in. Go to bed. Wake up to super shiny, cookie dough-free rings!

three. Last weekend we checked two new restaurants off our list –
Kid Cashew and Summit Room. We invited our good friends John and Lisa
to come with us for a double date and had the very best time. I’d say
96% of the time we spend with them usually includes wiping noses,
filling sippy cups and being responsible, so it was fun to break away
together for some fun, uninterrupted adult time. We started with drinks
at Kid Cashew and it was such a cool place that I’m dying to go back and try it for

After a few drinks we walked across the street to Summit Room for one of the best meals ever. The only time our table went silent the entire night was when the pimento cheese corn fritters arrived. We all agreed they were unbelievable — the best corn fritters of all time. The rest of the food that followed was equally amazing. Lisa and I both got the potato gnocchi, John got the shaved catfish and Matt got the duck. Everyone loved their meal and we had the very best time.

four. My sister’s birthday was last week and she loved her gift so much that I wanted to share it! I surprised her with an Xtremeglas Hydrate 32 oz Water Bottle. Now, you may be thinking “Oh cool, a water bottle. Lame.” But this gift was perfect for her. She’s a health nut and drinks a ton of water each day. I considered the S’well bottle and also the Yeti (which I got her hubby for Christmas) but kept coming back to this one because I liked that it is glass and has time and ounce/milliliter markings to keep your hydration on track throughout the day, perfect for a breastfeeding mama!

five. We are going on our fifth week of HelloFresh and are enjoying this incredible subscription more than ever! The meal of the (last) week was hands down the Caramelized Onion Burgers with Garlic Aioli and Crispy Cauliflower. Several of my friends are also subscribed to HelloFresh and agreed this was one of the best boxes we’ve received yet!!! Actually, I haven’t had a box I didn’t like.

Want to try HelloFresh? Use promo code MG8GKD for $40 off your first box! That means you can try out HelloFresh for $29 and then cancel after your box arrives or keep on going.

Also, from time to time I receive a promo code to give my friends a FREE box of HelloFresh meals! I’ve already shared this subscription with my friends and still have four free boxes left to give! I’d be happy to send the first 4 people to leave their email address in the comments a free week of HelloFresh to try!

Wanna join Darci, April, Natasha and I on the
Friday fun? You can link-up on any of our four blogs every Friday! All you have
to do is…

Write your post about five things you’re lovin’ this week (or any five things
you want to share!).

2.) Share the logo on your blog and link back.

Link-up at the bottom of the post so some new readers can check out your five
things and say hello!

Was wondering your thoughts on the lens you got for your cannon camera for Christmas. Keep thinking about making the purchase but wanted to see your thoughts!

Those 2 are just the cutest ever!!! I've never used ammonia for my rings. Always rubbing alcohol. I let them get way too dirty. I'm going to try the ammonia.

Five on Friday!

Happy Friday! It is a very happy Friday indeed! Caroline is on the mend from a nasty, nasty diaper rash (severe enough to require a doctor’s visit), I turned 28 (which is no surprise to anyone because I’ve been telling people all year that’s my age by accident) and we are off to Asheville for a lovely weekend in the mountains!

In other news, I have a special announcement! Summer break is over and our Five on Friday link-up is coming back better than ever starting next Friday! Get your posts ready, ladies! Darci, April, Natasha and I are so dang excited!!!!

– ONE – Skinny Girl Cucumber Vodka

I’m pretty sure I’m the only person on instagram who hasn’t had a pumpkin spice latte yet. And although the temps were much cooler this week and it’s officially fall I haven’t quite transitioned to fall beverages. And when I do, I’m going straight for the most under appreciated warm Starbucks beverage – Caramel Apple Spice!

Anyway, I’m hooked on Skinny Girl cucumber vodka. I served it at our recent dinner party and have been stirring up a few on the weekends (and maybe 1-2 during the week too). Of course, all summer long my sister kept sending me pictures of delicious looking cucumber cocktails and I am just now arriving to the vodka party now that summer is officially over. Womp. Anyway, save this super simple recipe for next year – In a glass of ice pour a shot of cucumber vodka,
mix in some soda water and top it off with some cucumber slices (or
don’t, your choice). And just like that you have a skinny, refreshing
cocktail. I’ve also added a splash of diet cranberry juice too and
that’s also tasty!

– TWO – Without a doubt, the best fall candle scent at Bath & Body Works is Flannel!! Oh my gosh, I absolutely love this candle so much and stocked up during the latest 2 for $22 sale! Hurry up and go get one. Last year they ran out quickly!

– THREE – A few weekends ago we cashed in Matt’s birthday present from July – tickets to the Jason Aldean concert featuring Florida Georgia Line. Before the show we met up with some friends and tailgated in the parking lot. It was such a fun night, the show was awesome and we had the best time.

– FOUR – I squeezed the very last few drops of my Philosophy face cleanser out last week and was feeling too cheap to buy a new bottle. So I perused the Target aisles and found a new face wash to try out – Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration Cream Cleanser. I was pleasantly surprised by how creamy and moisturizing this cream is! Two thumbs up!

– FIVE –  A little blurry {but not complaining because I kind of like the way it hides my wrinkles}, but Matt snapped this picture of the mini and I on the way out the door yesterday. We pulled out the biggest bow we could find in honor of my birthday.

Happy Weekend!!!
