If you’re looking to shine up your jewelry, I’ve got a simple homemade ring cleaner recipe that is highly effective and will have your diamonds sparkling. With this cleaning method you can skip the trip to the jeweler for cleaning and instead use this simple homemade ring cleaner solution and an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner.
My favorite time to use this ring cleaner solution is right when we return home from a beach trip to remove all the sunscreen residue from every nook and cranny of my rings. And it works like a charm to make my jewelry look brand new!
Ultrasonic Ring Cleaner Machine
While you can skip the machine-cleaning and simply soak your rings in this solution and still see some shine, you will see a huge difference when you use an ultrasonic jewelry machine. I have had mine for several years and use it often. I even loan it to friends all the time.
My exact machine is the Magnasonic Professional Ultrasonic Jewelry Cleaner and is super easy to use. It has 5 preset cleaning cycles, an auto shut-off feature, and an extra large tank so I can clean a lot of things at once. It also has 42K+ glowing reviews. Ring Cleaner Solution Supplies
For the magical cleaning solution, you will need:
- 1 Cup Hot Water
- 1/2 Cup Windex
- 1 Teaspoon Dawn Liquid Dish Soap
Ring Cleaner Process
- In your jewelry cleaning machine, add 1 cup hot water, 1/2 cup Windex, and 1 teaspoon Dawn liquid dish soap. Let jewelry soak for at least 30 minutes (the longer is soaks, the more powerful the clean), or overnight.
- Optional: For extra dirty rings, once you’ve finished soaking, you can use a soft bristle toothbrush to give your jewelry a gentle scrub then return items to solution.
- Run the cleaning cycle (I always select the 480 seconds). Don’t be surprised if you see little pieces of debris floating on top of the water!
- Remove rings from machine, rinse with clean water, and dry them with a paper towel. Enjoy your shiny rings!
