I love making Homemade Chicken Taco Seasoning. We use it every week for Taco Tuesday, and one large batch lasts us a very long time!
I began homemaking my taco seasoning back in 2012 (which is when I originally published this post!), after scanning the ingredients list on my store-bought taco seasoning packet and discovered unnecessary additives, preservatives, and excessive sodium levels.
I decided to make my own taco seasoning, so I could control the ingredients and not only is it healthier, it tastes way better too! And it’s cheaper to make yourself!
We usually make chicken tacos every week, but I use this blend on our beef tacos too!

Why We Love This Homemade Chicken Taco Seasoning
- Easy to Make: Just dump all the ingredients in a bowl, give it a stir and pour into your container. It takes 5 minutes and will last you a long time!
- Cheaper: Making your own seasoning is much more cost-effective than purchasing lots of taco seasoning packets!
- Healthier: No unnecessary additives, preservatives, and excessive sodium levels.
- Giftable: This would be a GREAT gift to make your friends, neighbors, teachers, etc. for Christmas or other occasions like Teacher Appreciation Week.

How much of this would you use per pound of ground beef? I'm a newlywed who's husband would eat tacos every night of the week if I let him so we definitely go through a ton of those little packs from the store, too! Great post, thanks for sharing!! :)

This is super late, but I have used and referred to this so many times since finding your blog last July. I felt like I really needed to come say THANK YOU! Just made some yummy black bean veggie burgers using this stuff. :)
