Five on Friday!

Happy Friday! This week has been crazy at work and I am so looking forward to our fun weekend ahead. Let's get right down to it...

- ONE - I just squeezed out the very last drop of my Naked foundation and was so happy to see that Ulta is running a one day sale TOMORROW on Philosophy Foundations {Hope in a Jar, Miracle Worker or Supernatural Foundation} for $25! I don't think this sale is going to be advertised anywhere online or in-store because I asked about it earlier this week when I dropped in to Ulta for a return and no one seemed to believe me that a sale this good would actually run this weekend. You better believe I'm bringing this flier in with me. Also, I've never splurged on Philosophy foundation but use the face wash, scrub, Hope in a Jar and Hands of Hope. Has anyone tried the foundation? Would love to hear your review.
- TWO - At the urgent request of my sister, I made Skinny Crockpot Thai Chicken this week for dinner. It lived up to her hype -- super easy and delicious. You can find the recipe {here}!
- THREE - In other cooking news, I just started making Caroline's baby food. I always thought I'd make every single thing she eats. Well, she turned 8 months this week and I am just now getting around to blending up some peas, carrots, apples, blueberries and sweet potatoes. I didn't really know what I was doing so I followed Hello Scout's tutorial {here} and was happy with how the food turned out. And after 3 hours of baby food making...Caroline will only take her pouches still unless I mix a ton of oatmeal into the food. Hopefully this experiment pans out...
- FOUR - Did y'all see that C. Wonder is closing all of it's stores?! You can read about the news {here}. I was absolutely shocked. But the good news is...everything is now 50% off on the website! A few things I wish I were purchasing...
Nylon Easy Tote {only $44} / Bling Stud Earrings {only $14} / Crewneck Boucle Sweater {$67}
- FIVE - This weekend I am helping host a baby shower for my friend McKinsey! Her sweet baby boy will be here so soon and we cannot wait to shower her! The shower theme is bow ties and it is going to be super cute!
Wanna join Darci, April, Natasha and I on the Friday fun? You can link-up on any of our four blogs every Friday! All you have to do is...
1.) Write your post about five things you're lovin' this week (or any five things you want to share!).

  2. I have not tried that foundation, but that sale price sure makes me want to. Definitely curious to see what you think about it! And I had no idea that C. Wonder was closing? I wonder why? Are they also closing down their online shops? So sad!:( Have so much fun at the baby shower, sweet friend. With your creative eye, I know it will be the cutest! Happy Friday!

  4. I've tried all three of the Philosophy foundations! My favorite is the Hope in a Jar, it's so creamy and lasts all day. The Miracle Worker is great too, I use it in the summer because of the added sunscreen. I actually returned the powder foundation (I forget what it's called) because it was awkward to use and did nothing for my dry skin. Enjoy the sale!

  8. Excited about the Ulta sale! I was planning on going there today for something else, but now I'll wait for tomorrow. I'm in need of some more Hope in a Jar. So...as far as baby food making goes, I basically did the same thing as you. I had hopes to make my own, but the packets were so easy and convenient. I started him with some of those and then once I got around to actually making his food he didn't like mine. Then I was pissed!!! I questioned my food making for a minute (maybe I should have taken the skin off those sweet potatoes and apples, etc) and then I started questioning what the heck are in those packets that make them like it so much?? Anyway, now Brody is 18 months old and still loves those packets. Keep trying your homemade food with Caroline and hopefully you can make her adapt!! It's a frustrating process sometimes :(

  10. With my last babe I made allll his baby food. Not so sure I can do it with the third but I do enjoy making as much as possible. I will have to check out the tutorial. Since my first I've used the book Super Baby Food. I've never tried Philosophy but my mom loves it. I do think Ulta has the best sales. Over Christmas I got a free Essie nail polish and super soft robe with a $40 purchase (and 15% cashback ;) ).

  11. I've been making Camille's food and I'd love to swap recipes with you! I recently blended up some kiwi and froze it in cubes. I think I was supposed to wait until she is 8 months to debut kiwi (whoops) but she just loves it! I'll make a mixture of two red apple cubes and two kiwi cubes, throw in a little oatmeal cereal, she loves it!

  12. The thai chicken looks good! I'm also making my 6 month old's baby food. I freeze ice cubes of some things to add to oatmeal, but also make my own pouches. I've been using the Infantino Squeeze Station to make them. It's the easiest for on the go (with the spoon attachment), and she loves it!

  23. so funny, I hate spending money on my hair too. I have blonde hair but have to get highlights a couple times a year, so usually I get two nice hair cuts a year with my highlights and that is it. Also love that bach set up.
