Five on Friday!

Happy Friday! Can you believe how quickly we are flying through the holidays? The number of days between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year are 6 days fewer than normal so I already feel so behind!! This weekend I am planning to add the finishing touches to our Christmas tree, put our wreaths up outside, decorate the inside of our home and work on our Christmas cards! We also have a 1st birthday party to attend and will watch all of the big football games!
  - ONE - Last night April and I went for our first {of many to come} mommy walks!
- TWO - Matt and I flew through season one of Orange is the New Black in one weekend recently and I am on pins and needles for season 2. In the meantime I decided to pick up the book to see if I could get some closure. I have to say I am only half way through but I am thoroughly disappointed. This is the first time that the book is not better than the movie in my opinion.
- THREE - Since the Gators didn't show up this season I've been rooting for the hubby's favorite team - the Ohio State Buckeyes. For their biggest rivalry of the season last weekend I made a batch of Buckeyes. You can find the recipe {here} Something tells me I'll be making a few more batches of these in the coming weeks considering their winning streak seems to be going strong!
- FOUR - I tried on the 9 month bump during our Black Friday shopping and y'all, there is absolutely NO way I can get this big. Seriously, I am less than 5 feet tall and will most definitely fall forward on my face every time I get up. My mom died laughing every time I walked out of the dressing room with this bump. I can't even imagine. I just can't.
- FIVE - One of the amazing perks of being preggo! I felt kind of ridiculous using this space at 18 weeks pregnant, not to mention there were tons of open spots nearby - but hey, I gotta use it while I can!

  6. I've been so impatiently waiting for the second season of Orange is the New Black to come out and it's just taking too long dangit! But I had no idea there was a book so that's kind of exciting!

  12. haha I never knew you could try on a 9 month bump. is that serious!?! This sounds funny but when I look back at my pregnancy I keep imagining myself as Katie with a 7 month bump. When I see pics from 9 months I cannot believe it! And use that parking spot lady! :)

  13. 1) you are such a beautiful pregnant woman! :) 2) O-H! Buckeyes all the way! 3) I told my husband we couldn't watch "Orange is the new black" until I was done with the book. I am so glad you said you didn't like it, I hate it, can't finish it. Now I guess we can watch the show. haha

  15. Go Buckeyes! I am a Hokie fan, and we didn't show up to play much this season (to the easy games, too)! My Dad is a huge OSU fan, so I've certainly jumped on the OSU/Auburn bandwagon for the remainder of the season! And I'm also dying to see/read Orange is The New Black -- I'm shocked that the book isn't as good!!

  16. I can't believe I never thought to pick up the Orange is the New Black book... that's happening this weekend! We flew through the season too and I just have to know what happens next. And yes, take advantage of that HT Pregs Parking... so great!

  17. You are so adorable!! Alllllll belly!

  18. You will be amazed how big the belly gets! I'm one day overdue, and 5'3. The bump is ridiculous on this shorty!!

  19. We soooo loved OITNB and am like you..totally on pins and needles. They need to hurry up with the filing already. Can't wait to see it!!

Loving your belly :) so adorable!

  20. #4 made me lol! You will make it and look so cute!!

  21. Hahahahaha!!!! Their 9 month bump is huuuuge!! No way you will get that big!

  22. You are just adorable pregnant! And don't worry, there is a good chance that your belly won't get that big! I had an over 8lb baby but my belly still stayed pretty small. Enjoy that bump while you can though, I miss it all the time. So much that I might just have to start planning number 2!

  23. LOL, oh girl! The nine month bump! Love it. I am 5 foot nothing, as well. I just had baby #3 a month ago today and yes, I was BIGGER than that EACH TIME! Crazy times! Eek!

  24. By about 34 weeks you will think you can't possibly get any bigger... and then you do. Here I am, 38 weeks today and feel GIANT! Best of luck to you for a happy, healthy pregnancy. Just keep slathering on the belly cream to (hopefully) avoid stretch marks and an uncomfortably itchy belly. I swear by Mustela double action stretch mark cream. It's heaven in a tube! Happy Holidays!!

  25. You just wait until 36+ weeks. You might be that big! My friend is 4'11" and got about that big. She was DONE! Ha! You look super cute.

  26. I love your 5 On Friday. You look so cute with your baby bump. Pregnancy really suits you :) I only made it just a few days past 37 weeks when I had to deliver and I am 4'10!!!! My baby bump at the end was pretty big!!!! When I thought my stomach could not stretch anymore it did. Its really amazing what your body is capable of doing when your pregnant. Also I took advantage of those parking spots right away!!!!

  27. I totally agree about Orange is the New Black! I LOVE the show but I am reading the book for book club and it's a major disappointment!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Never feel ridiculous for using that expectant mother spot!! You take advantage of it every chance you get. In my opinion, there needs to be a "newborn" parking spot, too! That's when you REALLY wish you could park closer. :)

  29. a mommy walk!? too cute :) love those peanut butter buckeyes too! xo jillian - cornflake dreams

  30. Two of my best friends growing up were from Ohio so there was always Buckeye Balls around. Sadly, I never thought to get the recipe from them. Thanks for sharing! Can't wait to bring them back!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Use that spot while you can!! As much as you can :) I think there should be spots like that for parents of newborns too! The Buckeyes look delish!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Girl, park in those spots while you can! If it makes you feel better, I've been parking there since I was, oh, 12 weeks prego? And I also park in the HT "customers with children" spots....because technically, I am "with child!" And you are too cute with that big ol bump, but I can tell you that it will get that big! I am 5'2" and at 32 weeks, I already feel ridiculous like I'm about to topple over!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Oh man that bump is HUUUUGE! But you may not get that big. When my sister had my nephew, she was carrying him so deep she only really ever looked about 6 months along by the end... even though he was a 10lb 4oz baby! Honestly, I still don't even know where he was hiding but she definitely didn't look big enough for that! So don't fear, you might not be fall on your face big ;)

  35. I absolutely enjoyed this post! That 9 month baby bump and you saying you just cant imagine yourself with a belly so big made me giggle. Too cute!

  36. Oh my goodness that 9 month bump is funny! My BFF is 4'9 and by the end she was ALL belly very similar to that. Thankfully she didn't fall forward. : ) What a blessing you and April are able to share in this journey together and now will both have little girls! Couldn't be more perfect or fun!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Ha, I'm 9 months now (over!) and had to try on 3 shirts today until I found one that fit over the belly! And I'm 5'1" too! But it's not quite as bad as those photos, although they aren't far off:)

    ReplyDelete
  38. You probably wont get that huge! I know I didn't when I was pregnant with my son.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I actually read the book first and was so excited to see it all "come to life" on the TV show and ended up being very disappointed. The book and show are nothing alike. I like the book better. Maybe it just depends on which one you see/read first. You look adorable btw. And I love your blog!

  40. Take advantage of that spot while you can! I LOVED that perk of being pregnant! A lot of our stores have a combined one for expectant moms/moms of babies.

    ReplyDelete
  41. You both look adorable pregnant! I can't believe how big that bump looks, crazy!! I am sure your body will grow just as much as it needs to :)
